I'm kinda surprised I haven't written about my external hard drive. July 22nd (I believe) I was uploading files onto my external, but it was soo hot that I pulled my computer off my lap and the external fell on the ground, while still slowly uploading files.
I took it into Best Buy. They said they could see what they could do and that if I found my receipt, I could try to exchange my hard drive for a new one if I was covered under a warranty. The next day I returned sans receipt. But the awesome Geek Squad guy looked up my receipt on the computer from almost 2 years ago and found it! Such a kind guy, really. I walked away with a 500GB External. 180 more Gigs than my last one, plus $20 back since it was cheaper than my old one.
Just as things were looking up, the bad news didn't go away. A week later they said they couldn't fix it. So I chose to have them send it off to see if the Geek Squad headquarters can try to fix it. Its been almost 3 weeks and I still haven't heard anything. I'm getting worried. Lastly, Best Buy said it could cost me anywhere from $250-$1600... wish me luck!
Also, on other bad news related topics, I went to CPP last wednesday and picked up my new printer (thats not the bad part). I saw that they had BLACK IPOD CLASSICS!!! AARRHHHHGHH!! And I had JUST sent in my rebate the Saturday before last. :( I want to find the guy who sold me mine and punch him. Only in dreams... only in dreams....
I'm trying to find someone who wants a new silver ipod classic so that I can convince them to buy a black one and trade with me, but the chances of that happening are super slim. Bummer city.
