Today I went to the V&A again and while I was there I bought a book on the international history of costume. Yes, this was mainly for historical Hetalia costumey lulz.

Bwahahaha, fem!England is magnificent in any time period, what are you talking about. And I think the reason people don't draw her with The Eyebrows is that in the canon sketches of her, she doesn't have them--but she also has glasses, which fem!America doesn't have, and basically the female designs are a little weird, is what I am saying. I would give her The Eyebrows, though! Because they are a major part of her magnificence.

...I sort of want to draw fanart of rugged!bearded!Canada now with America looking on in seething envy. Hrm.

Huh, for some reason my imagination had pasted The Eyebrows onto canon!fem!England. I do remember the glasses thing, though, which confused me too. It's not exactly a fair tradeoff, either, because The Eyebrows>glasses. Ask dude!England.

I have decided that in the female universe, Texas was somehow greatly influenced by Britain and became a sophisticated, literate cultural center of America. Also, Nantucket was annexed by Canada. Them womens get things done, yo.

...I may do it. May. It would help continue that it's-totally-okay-I'm-not-writing-if-I'm-drawing-instead streak I've been on lately.

Your random hair-related headcanon is a WIN. Totally agree re: England's and America's facial-hair fail. Fem!England has Epic Eyebrows, I'm sure, but she probably grooms them so they aren't as majestic as those of her counterpart.

And a thumbs up at the art! What could be better than history fashion nerdery? Uh, nothing, that's what.

Who knew that pondering nations' facial hair could provide hours of entertainment? I'm so glad I've got that particular headcanon out of the way, anyway, because heaven knows I'd never have gotten to use it in an actual fic.

Thanks for the thumbs up! Expect more historical costumer nerdery- the book is super thick and there are pictures of JANISSARIES and FINNS and SPANISH DUDES and ENGLISH ARMOUR all kinds of awesome stuff.

Also, this is probably NOT why most people leave the eyebrows out of gb!GB (ahaha), but she would probably pluck them? Societally restricted definition of beauty and all that?

Thank you! And gb!GB is now how I will refer to lady!England. FOR EVER.

I wonder if The Eyebrows would even take plucking. Maybe they grow back extra-fast? And I just realised that Hetalia has given me an unhealthy eyebrow obsession.
