Since I finished work I've had rather a good time, got to see my brother for a day when he came over to visit and saw The Dark Knight. That's Dark with a capital "D"! Not what I would rate as a 12A film for the violence, but that's another debate all round.
Then got to see the rest of my family in Stratford where we enjoyed sunny weather, relaxing by the river and a great performance of Hamlet by David Tennant and Patrick Stewart playing Claudius. It had a lot of somewhat dark humour in it, not that you think of Hamlet being funny, but it was laugh out loud many times and worked perfectly. The whole cast was great and the theatre was lovely, got myself a poster and programme and I'm now tempted to see if Love's Labours Lost still has any tickets going.
Then a rather early morning and 3 hour coach ride back to London to see the Doctor Who Proms with a couple of friends, which was fantastic.
Great music and surprises. Judoon, Cybermen, Ood, Daleks, Davros, Noel Clarke, Camille Coduri and Catherine Tate all made appearances with the lovely Freema Agyeman presenting. A message from David Tennant after the interval too, who obviously couldn't be there, saying he was listening live on the Radio and that it sounded brilliant. The Hall was full and the applause went on for ages at the end.
Then lunch and finally home to shower and have an early night.
It's been great!
