Feel the Music

So I went down to Portsmouth yesterday to see John Barrowman performing. Didn't all quite go as planned though. Thanks to a power loss between Northampton and Milton Keynes I was stuck at the station for an hour and half before even leaving properly, subsequently making me extremeley late.

I had planned my trip to arrive about an hour half early to have time to eat, have a look around etc, instead I arrived just before the end of the first half and only got to see half the show. I was somewhat peeved.

The second half of the show was well worth it though and I'm glad I went anyway instead of giving up. Got to meet lots of fellow JB fans who were really nice and ended up sitting next to the parents of the drummer playing on stage with John.

John Barrowman himself was great, he was funny great voice and made me enjoy music I wouldn't normally count myself a fan off. He sang from I remember Man of La Mancha, from Don Quixote, I am What I am, Amarrilo, Heaven, I Wont Send Roses, Remember Me, That's Life.

He had stories to tell as well and got presents from the crowd and all in all was simply a pleasure to watch. I hope he does another tour next year so I can actually get to see the whole thing this time! It really made me want to work on my singing as well as it's just so much fun, especially when you can belt out a great song. His guest singer Daniel Boys was really good as well.

There were also some complete twats at the hostel in Portsmouth I stayed in last night who decided to shout and knock on people's doors asking for sugar at 4am!!!!!! Despite these hiccups though, it was a good trip!
