dance the night away
So last night I went out with a little group of people to a fancy dress Mardi Gras party. It's not something I've been to before an it turned out to be a lot of fun, there was food, drink and music to dance to as well as a couple of demonstration dances which were amazing! It definitely makes me want to take up Salsa and all those fast, energetic, sexy dances!
I managed to dance pretty much every song all night and had a great time. It was all couply type dances, so fortunately I managed to borrow one of Rina's friends. It's funny how tempting it is to lead a lot of the time. It's fun getting spun around and twirled, but especially during the fast numbers I can feel myself wanting to take more control. I did dance Rock Around the Clock with Brenda and got to lead, which was huge fun!
I'll post some pictures as soon as I manage to upload them. Getting to wear a costume was great too, I hardly ever get the chance to dress up and even just trying stuff on at the costume shop, I could do that all day. Lots of gowns and dresses, especially as I hardly ever wear skirts or dresses. I feel more in the mood to possibly wear them now, only problem is not having any with me. *g*
I'll have to take up Belly dancing again too, it was so much fun and you learn to do lots of interesting things with your body and that's always a good thing. :-)
