NYC days 6,7 & 8 (1st weekend!)
Hi! I'm not ignoring the journal, I promise. Just had a really busy and fun first weekend in NYC. However I am gonna try to keep this one short since it is after midnight and I have to get up for work tomorrow.
Friday
Worked on a presentation that was due that day. The process of getting the whole board together to send to our creative directors was nerve racking as HELL but it all got done. Then it was fun times with Didi and Julia! First we had the "wait where the f*** are you?" adventure trying to find one another. Then we went to a chain bakery called "hot and crusty" Best quote of the trip? "Hot and Crusty is THE SHIT!" xDDD I showed the girls where I was staying, and then we went and picked up Di's friend Derek (who is AWESOME btw) and we all went for lunch at time square. Omg so much foooodddd. But it was all delicious and I have to say THANK YOU TODD LIKE WOAH for picking up the tab. Then we took Di an Derek back to the train station so they could get home. Afterwards Julia and I went to China town and wandered around there for a few hours. SO MUCH ASIAN CRAP!!!! We got some random stuff, hung out in a park (where some random woman spoke to Julia in chinese for a few minutes. She was obviously feeling really indignant about some kid we were watching and it was really funny) got dinner at a restaurant and then went to a chinese bakery. OMG $1 CAKE FOR THE WIN!!!! sooooo goooooddddd. lol Then we went back to my place and hung out on the roof for a while. Afterwards I walked Julia to the subway, went back and puttered around till bed time.
Saturday
Met up with Julia around 11 and went to a diner down the street for breakfast. Then we wandered up 34th av for a while. Stopped in the big Macy's and went to explore all of the floors (there are 9 of them.) The perfume people there are really aggressive and now I am scared of them. O.o :P We also found some cool furniture and made like everyone we passed think we were dating. It was fun. After coming back out we found a Game Stop, where Julia proceeded to harass all the employes there and I stared at all the shiny games I waned (but can't have!!! Damn you ps3!!! xD ) Then by a twist of fate, we found Korean Av! I didn't even know there was a Korean av, but there is and we wandered around there. Then we headed back and on the way back, Julia bought cool chucks and we found another Chinese bakery. YAY FOR MEAT BUNNS AND 95 CENT CAKE!!!!! Omg such good cakeeeeeee. XD After eating all our food, I took Julia to the bus station and saw her off. Then I came back, ran some errands, took a nap, had dinner and poked around till going to bed.
Sunday
Went to see Mom's friend Amarillis in Brooklyn. I took the subway, and of course got lost coming out *.* But I figured out how to get where I needed to be eventually. After getting to her apartment, I had breakfast and took a nap while she took a conference call. Then we went out to look around the area near her apartment called Dumbo. That stands for something, but I can't remember what now. The area is really nice though. Lots of little design shops, markets, restaurants and specialty shops. I bought a deign annual in one shop, a HUGE AND DELICIOUS frigging gingerbread cookie in an open market, and 3 pieces of chocolate from some famous chocolate shop. I wanted an other book, but no moneys. T.T After wandering around in a near by park (which was really pretty. They had actually created a little bit of an artificial beech there too) we went back to Am's place and cooked dinner. It was really good and filling, so we napped/watched tv for about half an hour. Then we walked across the Brooklyn bridge twice! I got some really cool pictures too. ^.^ Once we got back I had a bit of tea, then took the subway home. Now it's time to get ready for work tomorrow.
I got my camera on friday, so I now have lots of pictures! Yay! I am thinking of making a flicker account so I can just dump em all there and people can go through them to see what I have been up to. Hmmmm. If I do that I will leave the link here so people can look em. Any way night world! I hope all of you guys have been doing well! ^.^
