"I had left far too many things undone, and unsaid." Alice was gentle with her touches. "And as you know, leaving to many 'uns' lying about can be a dreadful thing indeed." Alice ought to know.

"Answers are elusive things, just like thoughts can be," she replied as she carefully wrapped his hand. "They don't like to be found, and when one does find them, they're often not precisely what you were hoping for. Mine were helpful, but I think some of them might still be residing between the cracks. I'll find what I'm looking for, eventually - there's always a key to be found to unlock the door, you know."

She released his hand once it was wrapped. "There. Better?"

He flexes his fingers and smiles, letting out a melodic giggle but the moment she pulled her hand away he was now thinking about her own loneliness. "Yes, thank you very much." He gave a soft sigh and looked up at Alice.

"Uns are most dreadful when they accumulate though I can't help but wonder if you ever made it home...which I would say the answer is a resounding and astonishing negative. What happened?"

Besides waking up in this place, he too had matters of importance to attend to and one of them was rebuilding his village and the rest of Underland. This effort was no small task but one that required a demanding amount of attention. "When you left, I thought I would be forgotten but something now tells me in whispers this is not the case."

"I'm not entirely sure." Alice rests her hands on her hips and stares somewhere past him. "I remember drinking the blood, to be sure - it was vile, really, and you faded from view but then...then there was simply blackness, which I thought was most odd, and then I woke up by the waterfalls, still in my armor and desperately clutching the Vorpal blade." She shakes her head. Odd, indeed - the place was as curious as Underland. She turns to face him.

"How could I ever forget you, Hatter?" Her lips twist into a soft smile, and she reaches to touch his arm, just so. "It was never a dream, I see that now."

His own smile came just as easy and warm. His hand reaching up to touch hers that rested on his arm. "Well, if we are not in Underland, then perhaps it's best to not assume it is. I woke up in the most lonely of places but hearing that you had not returned home has me befuddled and bemused in a swirling spiral of thoughts most peculiar. How we dream up of such a place at different times? Otherworlders reside here from what I've seen and some rather peculiar boys and a contest."

He shook his head as his eyebrows shown the emotion of his confusion along with his eyes changing color to blue in thought. He was very easy to read considering his odd ability as a living mood ring.
