Wheeljack had said he'd be in the Medbay to help with something, and hadn't showed up.

It wasn't the lack of help that bothered her. Honestly, she was loath to let others help her in the first place, and she could finish on her own. It was knowing how Wheeljack was that sent her over to Ground Zero. Oh, well. She supposed it was up to her to pull him out of whatever work-marathon he was in the middle of.

She was in her Cybertronian form, since her bike wasn't quite done yet. Being able to move around on her own was something Red was still getting used to. She'd spent so much time at home, dealing with her own limitations, she'd almost forgotten she had a body she could move around with. Letting herself into Ground Zero, Red made her way to the main lab area, rolling to a stop.

"Wheeljack?" she called. "Wheeljack, are you here?"

"'. . . the real origin and essence of the hypnotic condition, is the induction of a habit of abstraction or mental concentration, in which, as in reverie or spontaneous abstraction, the powers of the mind are so much engrossed with a single idea or train of thought, as, for the . . . the nonce' . . . nonce? What the frag's a nonce?"

It took a second time of Red calling to him before his processor registered her voice, and even then it was rather absently that he called to her. "Huh? O-oh . . . I'm in here!"

She hadn't expected anything different. Red wheeled over to his door, knocking on it with metal knuckles before opening the door.

"You stood me up," she accused, more wry than actually upset. Curious, she leaned forward to catch the titles of the books he was reading.

An array of books were visible, stacked on the desk, as Wheeljack shifted in his chair to face Red. Among the titles, she'd find such books as 'Mind Programming: From Persuasion and Brainwashing, to Self-Help and Practical Metaphysics', 'My Voice Will Go with You: The Teaching Tales of Milton H. Erickson', 'Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy: Basic to Advanced Techniques for the Professional', 'Mind Penetration: The Ancient Art of Mental Mastery', and 'From Chocolate to Morphine: Everything You Need to Know About Mind-Altering Drugs'.

"I what?"

He gazed at her blankly for just an instant before it hit him. He jumped, nearly dropping the book in his hands, then setting it on the desk on top of the stack. This one's title was 'Braid on Hypnotism: The Beginnings of Modern Hypnosis'. He stood and turned fully to her.

"Red! Aw . . . Primus, I'm sorry! I just- I've been . . . tryin' ta deal with a-a . . . a problem. Lost track'a time . . . what time is it?"

His optics dimmed faintly as he turned inward a little to check his internal
