Who: Axel and Roxas What: AXEL DECIDES TO BE FORTHCOMING WITH INFORMATION what is this world coming to. Also, screaming trees. When: Sunday evening Where: Not!Virginia Warnings: MAJOR SPOILERS FOR DAYS.
Shooting the tree trunk a glare as he strained to hear Roxas above its screeching, Axel shrugged as best he could with one hand clamped firmly over his ear. "Not sure how," was his perfectly honest answer. Burning didn't work, stabbing it only made it worse.... "Demyx put it in water. Muffled it a little, but didn't shut it up."
Not that either of them could control the amounts of water that Demyx could. Even if Axel had been practicing with it.
He began circling the tree trunk, making sure that it was still held in place. They certainly didn't need it to suddenly start rolling at them. When he stepped a little closer to it, however, it immediately began screeching louder. Cue a hasty retreat as he clapped both hands over his ears.
"I'd almost say it doesn't like me!" The tone was joking, but he was quite sure the tree trunk had some personal grudge against him. Probably hadn't helped that he'd cut off most of its branches, but he'd hardly asked to be attacked in the first place.
Axel had no sooner thought, 'Why didn't I think of that?' before his ears were suddenly ringing. He winced, rubbing at them and shooting the tree another poisonous glare. Roxas would have some help opening up that portal.
It was only after a few seconds that he realized his ears were ringing because the screeching had actually stopped.
"... I can't believe that worked," he voiced his disbelief, sounding incredibly loud in the sudden silence. He stared at the tree trunk, then cupped his hands behind his ears, as though to make absolutely sure there wasn't any noise.
Nothing. Nothing at all, save the little creaks from its nubs of branches.
A grin split over his face, and he directed it at Roxas. "Think it's safe to say you scared it."

"You got any ideas?"
