...Isis.

I wonder how many worlds she has taken now. I still have... not had the courage to visit my own.

If what I understand about her is right, one world is one too many.

How are you faring, Noon? Getting along here alright?

Yes, everything is fine. My life here is much easier than it was back in my world. Which, ironically, makes it more difficult at times.

To be quite honest, the idea of an impending conflict is quite welcome. It will be good to be doing something worthwhile.

Believe me, I understand that feeling. I don't like sitting idle.

I take it you're going to be sticking by Monday for the most part?

Of course. He does not consider me bound in service to him any longer, but he is the only master I have ever known. Protecting him is still my foremost interest.

Hey, in times like these? Ya gotta go with what ya know.

So I take it you've got some combat training?

Yes. Defense was one of my duties back home, of course. I am good with a sword and proficient in some crude forms of magic.

I only find myself wondering if our own weapons will do anything against the enemies we now face. Everything about this place is very different.

Good old fashioned melee combat, then. I can appreciate that.

I hate to admit it, but that worries me as well. Seems like this place is really varied in terms of people and talent, but if this Isis lady is tough enough to glass whole worlds? Yeah, we're by far the underdogs here.

Yes... I have a strong feeling that the casualties will be high. We have, at least, strength of numbers. All the inhabitants of this city, Ameras, Solaris - Isis has only herself.

...of course, I have... lost to a foe that we greatly outnumbered before, so I do not place much stock in that.

Could be she's hoping we'll underestimate her because we've got greater numbers. Always have to keep these kinds of situations in perspective.

Any idea if we've got here who's good with battle strategies? If we do, I should probably be sticking with them.

Who knows. I doubt many of the inhabitants of the city are accustomed to situations as grave as this. Personally, the one I would most readily follow - with, of course, the exception of my own master - is the Deva, Ameras... he knows more about this war than any of us.
