[The device clicks on and England gives a wide cocky smile, hs amber-coloured eyes large. He looks quite smashing in his pirate captain's attire, doesn't he? A few of the white feathers in his hat are whipped around in the wind but it is rather breezy at the top of Big Ben, isn't it?]

Ahoy, Citizens of Nautilus. I now claim this city in the name of ( Read more... )

[Orihime is exhausted. She's been trying as hard as she can to respond to her friends, knowing (and hating) that there are some she just can't get to. All she can do is trust in the others who have responded. And right now, she's reluctant to leave Ichigo after they dealt with his own Shadow, but England is her friend. He's always been so kind to her. She can't abandon him.]

[At least she knows where Big Ben is. And it's not far from where she lives, so that's where she goes, pushing her way through the fog until she reaches the dark spear. She cups her hands to her mouth.]

England-san! ...England-san, I'm coming up!

[She ducks into the clock tower and starts to climb. Suddenly she's glad she's got that building-top garden in Helix, because this is a LOT of stairs.]

Miss Orihime? [he shouts down, Bending the wind to carry his voice clear to the ground]

It is quite alright! He is just blathering nonsense! I can handle this!

[but he can't see her anymore...]

[There's no telling who will have to deal with violent Shadows and who won't, but she's not taking any chances with her friends. She reaches the top, with (assumed) a row of square windows, and immediately pokes her head out as she tries to find England.]

England-san?

[both England and Shadow turn. England's kind of clinging to one hand of the clock, trapped where he is.]

Yes?

[they glare at each other]

Don't talk to her, you trash!

Why not? So she cannot see what ugly ungentlemanly traits you have? She already knows what you're capable of.

And what makes you believe this claim will be acknowledged beyond its rejection?

What makes you say that it cannot be done? You are quite cheeky to be bossing me around, V.

I've only asked you a question---in what way could that be considered 'bossing'?

Considering your background, I cannot take your questions at face value, can I, V?

[Sealand has absolutely no clue what's going on, but he knows that something isn't right here.

He's very concerned it seems though, but he's trying not to panic too much.]

England! Can you hear me!?

What is the meaning of this?

Ah, Sealand. Are you as daft as you are defiant? I am here to claim what is rightfully mine. Including you, boy.

Me? Rightfully yours!?

[He scoffs.]

It's seems like you're the one who's daft here.

Childish as always, Sealand. Not to worry, I've got plenty of time to straighten you out once I catch you. Shouldn't be too hard.

'scuse me.

You're...England, right? As in the United Kingdom?

That is correct.

Have you ever thought that...well...with the advent of easy global communications and transportation, even owing to things as simple as the steam engine and refrigeration, the mercantilist, aggressive politics of large European empires inevitably evolved into open internationalism dominated by the countries with the greatest banking and manufacturing infrastructures?

[Thank you Japanese public education system.]

And to whom does the world owe for the invention of the steam engine? Who was the most aggressive to reach out to the world and brought such wonderful systems to follow? Me!

Even now I still hold a quarter of the world in the palm of my hand! And now I aim to extend that to here! The world is ever-changing, my dear boy. Don't underestimate me even if England chooses to ignore his potential now to fit the status quo.

Blimey...Just shut up!
