Lol, I'm amused. But you have to either know both Buffy and Queer as Folk or go read
Thin Ice by
valerie_z , which is crossover of these too, to understand that. (I know, I know, I myself am not particulary fond of crossovers, but this one draws some niffty parallels between Buffy and Justin. It's fun!)
Now, the amusing part? I realized two scumbags from each show,
Scott (I know Parker was the worst, so, um, make it two gay scumbags from each show?) and
Ethan, were played by the same actor! Niffty, indeed.
True Blood 3x07 Thoughts
Damn, I love True Blood. I tend to forget that but then a new season starts and I'm back to loving it. Though I gotta say, this episode was kind of disappointing (and felt sooo short, aargh). Out of three characters I like the most, only Jason got to be in the spotlight - oh, he cracked me up with the "that shit's behind me, I just need some meth" exchange, ETA: haha, and with his "depressed" state as well - but no sight of Jessica or Lafayette/Jesus storyline. I seriously hope they get back to that 'cause what am I supposed to say now? Yay, Lafayette got a boyfriend for the first time in three years for two frakkin' episodes? Come on, Alan Ball, you can do better than that!
Besides that, I quite enjoyed Sam's rescue mission. I gotta say I won't miss either the Magister or Bill's sire. Speaking of Bill, is anyone else annoyed that Sookie is so ready to put Bill leaving Tara to die behind her? I wonder, however, what's the deal with Sookie's coma sequence and Sophie Ann's interest in her. I can't wait to see the next episode.
Some behind the scene story: while I was watching, my Mom sat down to eat her lunch and was seriously disgusted by the usual amount of blood (and she didn't even see any staking!). Hee, she doesn't like it when vampires drink on Buffy, either, and that's highly vanilla compared to TB. Anyway, it's kind of funny, considering she works with blood.
OTOH, I loved Mad Men 4x02 but have nothing clever to say about it. Except that I approve of more Sally time!
