WHO: Ezra and Lillian
WHERE: Homeroom
WHEN: Early morning, first class
WHY: There's a wee bit of tension between them
It was the beginning of another week, and Ezra was still rubbing the sleep from his eyes when he entered the classroom for his first class of the morning. There were a few minutes before homeroom started, and the others who'd arrived were talking amongst each other and finishing up some homework last-minute. Ezra decided to follow the latter example and dug the reading for his second class out of his backpack. He'd already read it, but he wanted to kill some time until Lillian arrived.
What had happened on Friday with Lester had been on his mind all weekend, and he knew he wanted to talk to her about it at some point. As the only two people who knew about his past aside from his family, they'd need to be there to support him. Ezra didn't know Lillian very well, but he knew she was dependable and cared about Lester a lot. She also seemed a lot better at handling an emotional Lester than he was, judging by the comments she'd left afterwards. He'd seemed a lot better when they'd parted ways that night, but Ezra knew he'd upset the other boy badly and didn't want to screw things up like that again.
The pages lay forgotten on his desk. While his gaze was focused enough, his mind was elsewhere. He almost didn't notice when she arrived, and blinked up at her as she passed in the best semblance of alertness he could muster this early.
