Recently I've gained a few pounds.
This has never been a good thing.
Until now.
I have the strong suspicion that the mixture of birth control and the beginnings of GMOs in food messed up my hormones, or promoted fat growth in particular unflattering areas, while avoiding filling in the areas that could have used it. And when I'd lose weight, the flattering areas would be the first to go and the last to come back.
So, when I was 19, broke and not having sex, I dropped the BC. I decided it was the right move, because I don't want shit fucking with my hormones, anyway. I use other means of protection, always including condoms.
So, as I got older, 24 or 5-ish, I began to realize what a fucking hidden ass food epidemic, no, PANdemic, we have going on in our food system, especially involving GMOs. Realizing it also messes with my hormones. I started eating more organic produce, then made the expensive switch to mostly organic meats. I've been eating a majority organically for about 2 years now. I dropped poisoned meat completely last Thanksgiving. I had done it a few months earlier, but I did the turkey tradition thing with friends. Now meat is out of my diet unless it's raised without antibiotics, hormones and was grass fed, which is enormously expensive, so I'm mostly vegetarian and about 80% of my diet is organic.
Here's where it makes a notable difference.
When I recently gained weight, it was subtle, I didn't even fucking notice. But when I did, it was filling in areas that I HAD before I started and then stopped taking birth control. It was all very complimentary, and that's me saying that!! I'm no skinny girl with aspirations for thicker! I've always been seeking thinner, well, more athletic, really.
I'll be pissed if this is just a really long period bloating.
