Someone: Why does slavery keep coming up/they can't get over it?

Me: because the effects are still around today. Slavery, and what happened afterward-- systematic discrimination of non-white people-- made it so that non-whites do not/did not have the same opportunities as whites.

Someone: I disagree.

Me: *Face palm*

I'm not judging this person ... I just ... *sigh*
