Today started off mildly depressing but ended up alright.

I was looking online for dance classes/self-defense classes. When I called a number of studios no one answered and that discouraged me since I hate leaving voicemails. But I did leave an email for a studio I'm particularly interested in-- they teach ballroom. I also left a voicemail for a self-defense class for women. We'll see what happens. If I don't get calls back by next week, I could always just drop in and see what the process is because the facilities aren't too far.

I need to do this soon before I lose my nerve.

Then I've just been reading the 3rd book in the series 50 Shades of Grey (Fifty Shades Freed). It's entertaining I guess. Not really what I thought it was going to be... yes, there's a lot of sex, but the story is deeper than that. I don't really feel like it glorifies an abusive relationship as some of my coworkers said back in Chicago. I view it as consenting adults indulging in a particular lifestyle. Anyway, if any of you out there have read it, I'd be interested to hear what you think. I wasn't planning on reading the series because I wasn't interested, but since everyone was talking about it, I decided to. It's certainly not a literary work of genius, but it did bring up a lot for me for different reasons.

Anyway, yes.
That is all.

And here is a quote I will leave you with... I really like this new book I got on introverts.

"Introversion--along with its cousins sensitivity, seriousness, and shyness--is now a second-class personality trait, somewhere between a disappointment and a pathology. Introverts living under the Extrovert Ideal are like women in a man's world, discounted because of a trait that goes to the core of who they are. Extroversion is an enormously appealing personality style, but we've turned it into an oppressive standard to which most of us feel we must conform."
