Pain in the Neck

Mar 06, 2010 09:36

My neck has been mildly hurting all week, but today it's bad...like, really bad....like as bad as it was at Cincinnati Con...yeah, THAT bad. As soon as my supervisor comes in, I'm going to ask to be sent to 'Occupational Health' so I can start the workers comp process. Until they see me, I'm not going to take any painkillers. I don't want to mask the kind of pain I'm in. I want them to see it in all its glory. Wow, I want painkillers.

Update: I just got off the phone with my supervisor. Occupational Health is closed on weekends. That means I have to go to the emergency room. I really don't want to go to the ER, but I don't have a choice. Because I have told my supervisor I'm in pain, by law, she has to send me. I suppose this is good. My neck is going to get looked at today while I'm in a ton of pain.

I just hope it doesn't take forever in the ER. I hate the ER. In my mind, only emergencies should be going to the ER. My neck hurts, but it's not an emergency. I'm not going to die without medical attention. Blah, I don't want to go to the ER.

Hopefully they will at least let me change out of my uniform before we go. I really don't want to be sitting there in my PD uniform. It draws attention to itself. People assume I'm a cop. It makes me feel uncomfortable.

As a side note, I'm so happy I'm not performing tonight. Hooray for watching the auditioners!

pain and agnony, work
