Finally a post about the Trail of Dead

Trail of Dead concert was Thursday. Left around 8:45, but the first band didn't start playing until 9. The first band (The Black) was okay. The second band, The Sword, I really didn't like (even though the musicians were good) because it was metal. The third band, Octopus Project, I though was really cool (Pitchfork gave their album a 7.4). They have a normal rock setup with drums, guitars, and bass but also synths and other electronics. Then the headline act.... wow... I mean they came out with a little sign that said "Legalize 420".... They had 2 drum sets and the two lead singers (Conrad and Jason) switched between playing guitar/vocals and drums. Probably half way through the set, which was really long (ended up being 14 songs), Jason smashed up his guitar (with a lot of effort, the first few hits I couldn't see any change). A little later and after the first encore song Jason also kicked over the drum set he was playing, and the roadies scrambled to set it up again. It was a great concert, and I definitely want to see them again sometime. I found some pictures from the concert on an unofficial ToD website here.

I don't think I'm going to post about this weekend because I didn't do much besides play video games (I chose a bad time to get addicted to Civ3), watch Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events and the new Family Guy that comes out May 1st (it's hilarious). I've got a bunch of work to do for this week that I should've worked on... but only 8 more days of class then exams start.
