Ooh, thanks for this, you inspired me to go on hotcouponworld.com for the first time since moving up here.

Who the heck do you get to babysit in the middle of a weekday? To be completely honest I would totally have a mother's helper or babysitter every single week if I could just FIND someone!

LOL! Not gonna happen, Miss Thang throws the most amazing hysterical screaming fit if I so much as turn my back on her in a new situation, let alone leave her in a strange place with a stranger. Thanks though. ;)

I'm just counting the days till the neighbor girls are 15 (the oldest are 10 now, I figure they can be mother's helpers at 11 or 12), but in the meantime the only sitter we've had goes to high school so she's not very available during the school year, and she injured herself about 6 months ago so we got out of the habit of having her watch the kids for date nights (just held out to have family do it!)

you can totally be a mother's helper at 10. you mean like play with/entertain the kids while you are still home but do other things, like laundry, dishes, coughknittingcoughcough, vacuum, etc. right?

my niece kaela does this, and she's only 7.5! i would never trust her to *watch* alli, but she totally changes diapers and dresses her and plays with her and keeps her occupied while I am at my MIL's house. i get to have uninterrupted COFFEE! it is spectacular.

also, i started this way with alyssa too, when she was new, to make sure i liked her and she was nice and was trust-worthy and such.

LOL. I totally trust them if I'm in the immediate vicinity, the one family with the two 9-year-olds and the 10-year-old is super used to watching younger kids (they're a foster family), and the other family with the almost-8 and almost-10 are just totally eager to please and responsible girls. :) I'll leave my kids with them no problem and wander about the yard gardening or whatever. But none of them is *quite* ready to have complete responsibility so I can have all my focus on a project and not have to expect to deal with anything but a serious emergency. I think the almost-10 will be there really soon though. :) She's my dedicated petsitter ( ... )

also, i looked at that site, and sadly it looks like you need a printer :-(

that's why i was so excited about fred meyer, because you don't need one. (i looked and grabbed a few, but there was nothing particularly note-worthy ...)
