I was completely addicted to soap operas (I learned from my mom) from age 9 to age 16. Once I missed a whole summer's worth of episodes, I kind of lost interest, but while I was watching every day, I just died if I missed a single episode. I had a teacher in elementary school who watched the same soap I did and she thought it was cool at first, but then one of the storylines started getting pretty dark, and she decided that maybe I was too young to be a soap addict. She said that no good came from watching soap operas and they just turned you into couch potatoes. (Takes one to know one, right?)
Well, I just saw this
PGP College Education Sweepstakes that is sponsored by two soap operas (I didn't watch either of these ones) and I just had to laugh. Who said soaps were no good? This is a very awesome thing that they are doing, and I think that if you could benefit from $50,000 for college for either yourself or your teenager, you should definitely enter this contest.
