Taking charge

Sep 19, 2007 15:19

I actually heard about it a very long time ago (at an LLL meeting in Idaho, so not pre-Ben, unfortionately) but hadn't managed to get around to reading "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" because I didn't really see any pressing need for it at the time. Well, the book came up again at my most recent LLL meeting, and then sugabeats mentioned that she had used ( Read more... )

That book is on my list, I've heard lots of good things about it. My sister-in-law had two boys and really wanted a girl. She read some other book that basically said boy sperm is faster, so if you want a boy you should have sex right before you ovulate and if you want a girl you should have sex days before you ovulate. I don't know all the details, but I have a beautiful niece named Lily. :-)

Yuppers, that is all correct. I knew I was ovulating the day we made Ben and I was like "Sorry, dear, we have to wait a few days" and he was like ( ... )

I swear though, I felt the implantation take place within hours of when Joel and I did the deed. And I had a girl, so who really knows?

Do you and Stephen have a girl's name picked out? I was SO glad to have a girl because Joel and I could NOT agree on boys names. Now we have a boy's name we like, and not really a girl's name.

I would kind of like to have another girl, though. (If I could have my perfect way, I'd have: girl, girl, boy.)

we have a girl's first name but i changed my mind about the middle name we'd previously had picked out and now we just cannot agree on a name to go with it ... and yes, i'm one of THOSE people that you were glad Amy wasn't ...

too many people know already cause Stephen can't keep from shooting his mouth off at every possible moment.

the method isn't perfect, obviously. they say if you're trying for a boy, you have a 90 percent chance of getting one, but if you're trying for a girl, your chances are only 75 to 80 percent.

i said "please don't stone me," and stoning is something they did in biblical times ... you know, don't stone me for being religious ... not funny, and not intended.

Oh, sure. Turn it around on me, why don't you.

If/when you have time, will you explain the religious thing? I mean, I know some things about how kids were named back in the day. But I'd like to know what you mean.

Does this mean you and Stephen had a talk about religious stuff?
