Looking for a unique gift?

Whenever the high holy days came around, my dad and I would be stuck at my grandma's house until the end of eternity. By the time the seder and meal was over, it would be way past my bedtime. So my dad would tell me stories in the car on the way home to help keep me awake. We used to look at the stars and he'd tell me about Princess Andromeda and her adventures in the galaxy. I didn't know at the time that he was making nearly everything up, because he didn't really know much about astronomy.

Since both father's day and his birthday are coming up, I was looking at this little gadget, meade my sky as a gift idea. It helps amateur astronomers and casual star-gazers learn more about the stars. It's an interactive, hand-held multimedia guide to the stars. You aim it up there and it tells you what you're looking at. That way, he can tell my kid brother stories about the stars and not have to make up all the other names!

You can also get binoculars, telescopes and microscopes there, but I think the little star identifier is by far their best product. What a cool concept!
