New Paths and Spiritual Nudges

The draw from the Wheel of Change Tarot today is the Prince (Knight) of Wands:

With his sacred pipe as his wand, a young man has gone on a vision quest.  Appearing from the smoke and fire is a raven and two Haida totem poles.  The two poles seem to create a doorway - perhaps the entrance to his journey to fulfill his quest.  The raven was known in myth as the "light-bringer," and seems to be presenting this young man with a way to reach his goal.  No doubt his journey will be filled with challenges and adventures, some that may cause him to detour from his path, but I have a feeling this young man's enthusiasm and drive will eventually get him moving in the right direction again.  The "new" is always a challenge for me, dragging me kicking and screaming from my comfort zone.  But the past has shown me time and time again, just what gifts await me if I'm willing to step onto that path.

The Oracle of the Dreaming deck offers the card "Sturt's Desert Pea" today:

A story is told in the dreaming of a young girl and young man who fell in love.  The young girl had been promised in marriage to a wirrunun (magic man), but the couple decided to run off and live with the young man's tribe.  The young woman, who had a son, could sing beautifully and sang the songs of the spirits.  The song spirits warned of trouble, but the couple were happy and ignored the message.  One night, the wirrunun came with his men to the tribe, and slaughtered everyone until the plains were stained.  The wirrunun was killed by a bolt of lightning for his actions, and the bones of the people were transformed into red flowers that covered the area of the massacre.  For me personally, the main message of this sad story is to pay attention to those feelings of uneasiness or those random thoughts that seem to come from left field.  These spiritual nudges are a gift - my intuition - and are there to guide and protect me if I will only listen and act on them.
