I haven't posted anything in ages! I have been lurking and reading friend pages. I joined an LJ knitting community, which then led me to join www.ravelry.com with is like myspace for people who knit/crochet. I don't feel like writing lots, but will recap with some pictures. Although I would like to point out that the reason I can post a bunch of photos is because I am SITTING AT HOME ON VACATION!!
First of all, one of the primary things I have been up to....KNITTING!
This is my most recently completed project, and my first venture into lace knitting. It wasn't too hard after I got the hang of it. I added fringe, although it wasn't part of the pattern, and I'm very happy with how it came out.
Up close you can see that it is black and silver sparkly!
I made this fuzzy blue scarf as a christmas gift for my mom. Then I used the leftover yarn to make myself a head band/ear warmer thingy.
And then of course the green seed stitch scarf I made for Will as a christmas gift, which I gave to him along with a pair of tickets to the Seattle Symphony on Valentine's Day!
I have started another project that I basically created the pattern for myself! It is going to be another head band/ear warmer thingy, but it's in black and red ribbing...hard to explain, but it is coming out very nicely so far for my first attempt at knitting in more than one color. I also promised to make Ashleigh a hood scarf like mine as a birthday present so we are going to take a trip to the yarn store this week and pick out the yarn for it.
I did some redecorating last week using this William Morris "wrapping paper" that I found at the U Bookstore and some images from the calendar I had at work this last year.
Last night Shenoa, Mary, Will and I played the Cat Lover's edition of Monopoly. You buy cat breeds instead of property, and you build up cat beds and cat trees instead of houses and hotels. Also, the wild cards are "wet food" and "dry food". It was a fun version to play, but nonetheless got boring after about an hour of playing. BUT, I got some cut photos of the kitties playing with us.
My only travel plans while on vacation are to go up to Anacortes tomorrow with Will. On the way up, we are going to meet up with Shevon and Greg to check out the church in Coupeville where there wedding will be held on Feb 7. I want to check out the space and discuss with them about what photos we will take, and take some test shots. After that we are going to hang out in Anacortes. Hopefully the weather won't be too terrible so we can drive around and show him some of the beaches and stuff. I have been playing around with the idea of getting a hotel up there and today checked some rates and we could get a nice room for around $60 with the lower winter rates, so we might actually be able to do that!
I guess that's all I feel like writing right now, but with just he P.S. that I have the best boyfriend in the world and he bought me cute boots, nice earrings, and some rad stationery for Christmas! No pics for some reason, but he is truly amazing and thoughtful with gifts. I am so lucky!
