This is too ridiculous for me to let pass without comment.
Did y'all read about the St. Louis Cardinals pitcher who died in a late-night car accident last month? His SUV plowed into the back of a tow truck pulled off the left side of the highway to help a stalled vehicle and he was killed instantly.
He was also drunk, talking on his cellphone, not wearing a seatbelt, and had marijuana in his car (don't believe drug screens are back in re: potential stoned-ness).
So logically
his father has filed a wrongful death suit against the bar, the tow truck driver (for not setting out flares, despite the flashing yellow lights), and the driver of the stalled car for negligently maintaining his car!?!? WTF??
I mean, wow. I understand his family must be distraught over his death, but that is some serious asshattery.
The driver should countersue for negligent infliction of emotional distress when some drunken idiot plowed into the tow truck that pulled over to help him and probably scared the ever-loving crap out of him. I mean, seriously.
