What:  John's captured Anya and means to interrogate her about the other demons around this place. BECAUSE ALL DEMONS KNOW EACH OTHER. THAT'S HOW THIS STUFF WORKS, OKAY?!

[Anya groaned slightly as she came to, blinking blearily up at the strange man. It took her a moment to realize why she couldn't move her arms. Another moment for her memory to catch up to her. Her eyes widen and she started struggling in earnest, not that it did much.]

Hey! Let me go! You can't do this to me!

[palmaexsisto]

[He smiles, spinning a small knife between his thumb and the forefinger of his other hand.]

Do what, exactly?

[nomorevengeance]

All of this! Kidnapping! Assault! Did you rob any of the merchandise? Or the cash register! That's bad too! Let me go!

[She struggles uselessly against the ropes.]

[palmaexsisto]

[He lets his hands fall to his sides, blatantly showing his disgust.]

Leave it to a demon to bring up their merchandise in this situation.

[He takes a step forward and runs the broad side of the knife along her cheekbone. There's a certain light in his eyes as he lets her feel the cold metal against her skin.]

Don't you think there are more important things to discuss, sweetheart?

[She swallows nervously, jerking her head away from the knife.] Ex-demon. There's a difference. [The big one being how she hasn't blasted him across the room and teleported out.]

I don't know what you want to discuss. I don't know why you're doing this or what you want or even who you are! Where's Riley? You know he'll tell the Slayer, right? [...she hopes he's still alive.]

You and I seem to have very different definitions of the word slayer.

[He crouches down to her level, propping his elbows on his knees.]

And your kind never stops being what you are. Once you become a demon you stay a demon. You don't go back.

[nomorevengeance]

[Anya yanks on her ropes hopelessly. She's going to die. She's going to die, and god, she hopes she'll come back. People usually do, but Angel didn't. And even if she goes home, she'll die there. A thousand years of living, cut short.

Her voice gets lower.] Maybe in your dimension, but not everywhere. Didn't you see my lecture? I'm not a demon anymore. I'm a weak, powerless human. You can tell by the way you're still alive and I'm still here.

[palmaexsisto]

You're all the same to me.

[He stands up straight and takes a holds his knife by the blade before tapping the butt of the handle against her temple.]

You definitely ain't human, no matter how much you want me to believe it... or do you still have to keep reminding yourself?

[nomorevengeance]

[She swallows a little at the touch of the knife.] Then you're either very blind or very stupid. [She's passed scared. And there's no reason not to speak her mind now. He'll kill her either way.] What is it you want?

[palmaexsisto]

[He holds the tip of the knife up against her jugular after flipping it around in his hand.]

Let's start with answers. How's that sound?

[She lets out a nervous little gulp at that, eyes widening.] You haven't asked any questions.
