Characters: Dean & Jo
Location: The new Roadhouse building
Planet: Coruscant
When: Right now
What: Jo gives Dean the surprise she's been promising him.
Rating: PG-13, for Jo and Dean being...themselves.
[The past few weeks have been rough on Jo, they've taken a lot out of her. In between the "vacation", and both of their parents surfacing, her emotions are frazzled and on edge. So she's glad that she was able to fork over all of her savings and just pay entirely up front for her Roadhouse, and she's even more glad that Dean seems actually okay with helping her out on this little project.
Of course, he'd probably be willing to help out a lot more if he wasn't do distracted by dad issues. Figuring that he needs a distraction from family and responsibility (and also figuring it's time to pay up on the second part of the surprise she's been promising him), Jo brings Dean to the Roadhouse and blindfolds him before tugging him along inside.]
Just stay...here. [She guides him to the center of the large and empty main space, and goes over to power up her surprise. It took another big chunk of her savings, but Jo had managed to find some contacts over the past month that were able to help her closely recreate some of Dean's favorite songs from back home. They weren't perfect renditions, but they were as close as Jo could get given the circumstances.
Sitting on one wall of the Roadhouse is a space equivalent to a good old jukebox, which Jo proudly starts up.]
I wanted to give you something you actually wanted, instead of some stupid crap you'd put in your closet or shove under the bed. And I saw you talking to that computer girl about music from back home, so -
[She cuts off there, and laughs as she presses some buttons and a pretty amazing rendition of Stairway to Heaven by Led Zepplin starts playing. Nah, that's way too soft and slow to entirely capture the mood she wants this moment to have, so she swaps it on over to Slow Ride by Foghat. There, that's upbeat enough. Grinning, she goes back over to him and stands before him, her hands going up to remove the blindfold.]
There's only fifteen or twenty songs now, and I've got 'em all put on your datapad too [Don't ask when she stole it long enough to have that accomplished, Dean.] and there'll be more coming in, just as long as I have the money to fork over. So I guess this is the part where you say I'm awesome and you can't believe you're lucky enough to have been with me a whole, incredibly long and amazing month.
[She looks around the old and empty building they're in, and then up at him, smiling. They've come a long way in the month they've been together. Not that she's exactly celebrating that as much as just pointing out to him that it's a pretty big milestone for her, and she's guessing it's one for him too. And she normally wouldn't say anything, but just giving someone a gift like this has to have some kind of reason. You know, other than you love them and want to make them happy.]
Anyway, if it's stupid or whatever, you don't have to keep them. I just thought you might like a piece of home back, even if it's not exactly perfect. It's pretty damn close.
