Characters: excessivehubris, regeneracy, oxidantshappen | Closed.
Location: Erik's mysteriously empty apartment, again.
Planet: Coruscant.
When: Backdated to last night after Claire's post & this thread between Charles & Drusilla.
What: Charles gets a headful of Dru invading his mind, Erik shows up to the rescue; Claire tags along and witnesses some..... angst.
Rating: PG/PG-13.

Though he didn't expect Claire to agree with him so easily, Erik doesn't let go, inclined to let her hold on for just a brief moment longer. It's only just dawned on him how integral Claire has become to Erik's life here; first Charles and his ability to be a steadying figure, and then there was Claire who had literally run in on him and how he's found himself genuinely caring for the young lady.

Erik moved away, withdrawing his hands from around her to hold onto her shoulders when an earsplitting yell comes. It's a familiar sound, all too familiar -- the night Emma Frost broke into his mind, breaking him apart in an instant. But this? Is so much worse.

He turns his head around almost immediately, towards the direction of his bedroom. ... Charles. Claire completely forgotten, Erik lets go of her, rushing to his bedroom as fast as he can because his attention is on Charles, solely on him right now.

Charles is on the floor of his room, hands pressed into his forehead, fingers hooked into claws, as if he's trying to tear something out, and all Erik can think is that something has gone entirely wrong. "Charles," he says, softly, as if speaking will tear the man away from what he's going through. Repeats it once, twice, three times before he strides the distance to where Charles is curled up and kneels in front of him.

The adrenaline rush has never been this bad, never, and he can hear his heart beat louder than the screams, because Charles has been the steady rock here, control embedded in his every motion and Erik can't let that go. His fear dissipates into frustration, searching the room for any indication as to what's responsible, who's responsible for this. "Charles, please. Look at me."
