open to anyone who feels like training with Erik as well~ oxidantshappen November 4 2011, 21:44:46 UTC
The nudge on Charles' part came naturally to Erik, who remembered his agreement with Kurt (and Charles himself) for additional practices. Donning his sweats, Erik took off at a brisk run, making his way down to the track. It had been a few days since he and Charles discussed where they stood and the promise of training was at least a welcome one for him, a distraction from skirting around the topic of their relationship to each other.

Charles' recollection of the events at Cuba were still ingrained in his memory, a reminder of how far Erik could perform if he focused on what Charles had taught him, true focus lies between rage and serenity. A chance to improve on this, to determine whether or not Erik could attune himself to the Force, and thus improve upon his abilities, drove him to test the limits of how far he could push himself ( ... )

A testament to his mental focus was the fact that he hadn't noticed Erik's approach until the man sent that deliberate thought towards him. Chuckling, inwardly, Charles didn't bother to slow his own pace, well aware that Erik could catch him without much effort, though he did shut down some of the more extensive mental exercises he'd been indulging in, in an effort to focus more on the man jogging beside him.

Hello, my friend!

He gave a slight chuckle as Charles responded, easing in naturally alongside of him and shifted his pace to stay abreast of him. Good morning, Charles. If there was one thing Erik didn't particularly mind about relaying his thoughts to Charles, it was the fact that he didn't need to waste needful oxygen to speak when he could be warming himself up.

The mental connection only served to remind Erik of his focus when training, of Charles' insistence at relying on serenity. Busy playing the professor once again?

There was the distinctive sound of a low, mental chuckle as Charles glanced over at his friend but kept up the light jogging.

Just thought I might make the offer and see if anyone was interested. It is, after all, easier to train in company than by ones self.

Lion-O had been wanting to talk to Charles, since he'd visited the library, after their video conversation. He might have noticed Charles there, if not absorbed in his own research. It was troubling him that he'd found the Cathars were cats; not just that misfortune had befallen a species, or that they happened to be like his own, but that he felt angrier about it, now.

The send came to him as visions from the Sword of Omens had. He saw the Swoop Track. And as with the Sword, Lion-o had the sense that the vision wasn't fully in his command. He saw the place, and he had a sense that someone he wished to talk to might be there, but no more.

Lion-O arrived at the track in his work clothes: basic pants and sleeveless tunic, with light armor and sword belt. Employment as a merchant guard had afforded him gear similar to that from home, though nowhere near as regal or magical.

Charles was certainly no regal figure in any sense as he jogged along in non-descript sweats. He's worked up enough of a sweat to look fairly disheveled as he jogs and for at least half a lap he doesn't seem to recognize that anyone else is there.

Its only when his back is well to Lion-O that his rhythm falters and he draws up and turns sharply, spying the man.

"Oh! Hello there," Charles calls out in a warm, friendly tone, dropping into a walk as he begins to make his way back to where Lion-O is standing.

Lion-O wondered what had given him away. Maybe the new sword belt made a sound; he was unaccustomed to wearing it. But he did not mention this confusion, instead smiling and greeting Charles with a wave.

"Charles. Right?" He asked. "I thought I should come here."

He looked over Charles's shoulder, past him, to see if something else was cause for the vision.

If a shadow crossed his face, it was brief and he gave his head a slight duck as he reached up to rub at his hair.

"Well, it does seem to be a good spot for some physical exercise," he offered while inwardly wincing at what he wondered might have been a slip.

Ah well best not to dwell on it. Instead, he thrust out his hand and smiled broadly.

"Yes, I'm Charles. Charles Xavier and you must be Lion-O. Its a pleasure to meet you."

[Logan had been wanting a word with Xavier since Storm up and disappeared, but he preferred his conversations to happen in person. So when he caught Charles' scent heading out near the swoop track, he just ambled over that way. Which sounds so creepy, but whatever, don't judge his life. X( He raises an eyebrow at the utterly bizarre sight to him of Xavier in exercise sweats and just leans against the fence, where the other man's bound to catch sight of him as he comes around the bend.]

[It is creepy Logan but if we can live with the mutton chops we can live with you sniffing people out. As for the exercise sweats, yeah they're not the most flattering things in the world as Charles is not exactly built like you or Erik for filling them out but hey they're more comfortable than jogging in a damn sweater.

Though caught up in his actual training which had more to do with mental gymnastics than his jogging, Logan is a distinctive figure as well as something of a softening in the clarity of his surroundings. The combination drops Charles out of his mind and as he gets a better look at who it is, he smiles broadly and angles towards the other man.]

Logan! Hello there.

[Logan stamps out the stoagie he's finishing over here into the grass that's been planted on this tiny patch of fake terraforming]

Was wonderin' what you were getting up to out here.

[He appreciates the lack of cigar smoke in his face, thank you, Logan.]

Oh, just a bit of training. [Charles offers in an off handed manner, though he smiles a bit sharkishly as he straightens up from his half crouch.] And a few laps.

How are you doing, Logan?
