He told himself this was just a late night drop-by. He couldn't sleep. It seemed natural to visit a friend. He figured Lindsey being an assistant ended at some point in the night. How much political intrigue could there be at two in the morning? It was a colder night, colder than he expected but he didn't grab the equivalent of a jacket. He had left that back home. He had his device in hand as he rounded the corner and sped up, spotting Lindsey's door.
He hoped he wasn't disturbing his roommates he didn't care about. Hell, he hoped he wasn't disturbing him. Stopping on the other side of the door, he knocked, taking a moment to glance around. No. Wait, he shouldn't have been here. He was fine. It was just a weak moment, a weak moment he wasn't acknowledging. He should have just turned and disappeared and left Lindsey alone.
Jason did turn in fact, stopping, closing his eyes. He couldn't help the images that flashed in his mind, the feeling of missing somebody in bed beside him. One tear fell but he wiped it away quickly, sucking in a breath.
