Speaking of guys who were still alive, Steve had spent the last three hours arguing with himself before finally deciding to pay Missus Agent Peggy Carter a house call that evening. While it wasn't exactly announced, Steve brought the Arkanian energy shield with just in case she started firing at him due to her believing him to be an intruder.

He was about to enter the building when he noticed a figure sitting on the roof. Fighting down the urge to yell 'That's Dangerous!', Steve took a closer look at their features. A broad, goofy smile grew on his face. Peggy.

Thinking he could take this opportunity to be dashing and romantic and all those other things, Steve discretely started climbing the side rail, hoping to surprise her as he swung onto the roof.

Drifting seemed to be the keyword here. No matter how hard she tried to focus on the more pressing thoughts to be organized in her mind, they always came back to him. She looked down, a smile inching shyly on her ruby red lips. How was it that he could do that to her, she thought.

The smile faded quickly in surprise when she saw the form of someone suddenly appear out of the corner of her eye. Her head turned fully to see the familiar silhouette of a tall, broad shouldered man.

"Captain Rogers," she said, her tone far more relaxed than how she would usually sound when addressing a soldier. "You're right on time."

A small, boyish grin crawled on his face. No shots fired this time. Steve swung down, sitting next to her ( but not too close, he thought ), head tilted downwards so they could be at eye level.

"It's something I've been working on. I keep hearing about how I'm always running behind for important dates."

Her eyes meet his. It's that smile that keeps hers from falling, and Peggy can't help but feel her cheeks flush a little when she realized Steve was the only one who could do that to her.

"That's good. Though, you don't strike me as the kind of man to do it on purpose."

Contrary to popular belief, Howard would actually take the time to walk while he was thinking something over. And after his meeting with Tony, there was a lot to think about.

Who knew he'd find company? And even better, Peggy's company.

"Well, if it isn't Agent Peggy Carter, as I live and breathe." He said, his tone pleased, and somewhat surprised. "I should've known you'd be here too."

Peggy's thoughts broke instantly the moment she heard the unmistakable and very familiar voice. They had certainly spent enough time with each other over the last year or so. That was, of course, before she arrived there.

When she spotted him, she couldn't resist a smile.

"You should be thankful it's me and not the Colonel." she replied as she walked towards him. "Howard, it's good to see you. When did you arrive?"

He barely suppressed a comical shudder. "You're certainly a prettier sight than the Colonel, so you bet I'm very grateful." Howard then shrugged at her question. "Sometime last week. And it has been... a real doozy." His voice tightened at that.

It was good to see him. She had come to rely on him a lot after Steve's plane went down. She considered him one of her closest friends and colleagues.

Yet, it wasn't long before her expression evened. There was something in his tone that was more than just the usual shock of arriving on a planet. In space.

"Howard?" she said. "What happened?"
