Speaking of guys who were still alive, Steve had spent the last three hours arguing with himself before finally deciding to pay Missus Agent Peggy Carter a house call that evening. While it wasn't exactly announced, Steve brought the Arkanian energy shield with just in case she started firing at him due to her believing him to be an intruder.
He was about to enter the building when he noticed a figure sitting on the roof. Fighting down the urge to yell 'That's Dangerous!', Steve took a closer look at their features. A broad, goofy smile grew on his face. Peggy.
Thinking he could take this opportunity to be dashing and romantic and all those other things, Steve discretely started climbing the side rail, hoping to surprise her as he swung onto the roof.
Drifting seemed to be the keyword here. No matter how hard she tried to focus on the more pressing thoughts to be organized in her mind, they always came back to him. She looked down, a smile inching shyly on her ruby red lips. How was it that he could do that to her, she thought.
The smile faded quickly in surprise when she saw the form of someone suddenly appear out of the corner of her eye. Her head turned fully to see the familiar silhouette of a tall, broad shouldered man.
"Captain Rogers," she said, her tone far more relaxed than how she would usually sound when addressing a soldier. "You're right on time."
A small, boyish grin crawled on his face. No shots fired this time. Steve swung down, sitting next to her ( but not too close, he thought ), head tilted downwards so they could be at eye level.
"It's something I've been working on. I keep hearing about how I'm always running behind for important dates."
Her eyes meet his. It's that smile that keeps hers from falling, and Peggy can't help but feel her cheeks flush a little when she realized Steve was the only one who could do that to her.
"That's good. Though, you don't strike me as the kind of man to do it on purpose."

"I'll take that as a compliment," he feels a little red on his own before clearing his throat. "So what's a gal like you doing on the roof all by herself at this time of night?"
that goes for me, too <38oclock_nextsatNovember 7 2011, 20:55:35 UTC
She looked at him, and gave a slight shrug. "Doing a lot of thinking, I guess you could say. About this place, and.." Peggy lingered a moment on him before her gaze drifted up into the sky. "Home."
Peggy had long since come to the conclusion that if Revan could pull them here, he could send them back just as abruptly. And she didn't want that to happen. Not when she knew that Steve would not be there.

Steve coughed slightly into his hand, thumbs beginning to twiddle after he set it down. "Yeah, I...can only guess this wasn't what you were expecting when you took on the special agent status."
He looked up, "Don't know what this guy wants from us, and I don't like it."

Her smile faded and she became serious once again.
"That makes the two of us. Though, I am most certain there are more who feel the same. From my understanding, he wants us to fight for him."
