[Now that they're in hyperspace Anakin's just fiddling with a few of the panels around the cockpit, fine-tuning the equipment to keep the ride as smooth for everyone as possible.}

[Hyperspace. HYPERSPACE! Luke wants to see! ...and sort of doesn't want to see. What if it makes him sick? What if he goes mad with hyper-rapture?]

[Regardless. Hyperspace! He is in space! Going to an ocean planet! This is everything he's wanted - except he does sort of wish Biggs were here to see it. He... he does miss his friend. And a lot of things about home.]

[But he's not going to think about that. Why? Hyperspace.]

[Anakin glances at Luke over his shoulder before turning back to the panel he's working on and smiling to himself.]

Maybe you can help me land her when we get there.

[sand_wormie]

[Oh. Oh, he's been standing in the cockpit for how long, possibly with his mouth open. Luke reddens, then what Anakin actually said registers.]

Really?

[He chuckles.]

Sure, kid. I hear you're quite the pilot.

[Luke is busy examining all the controls now, so his attention is split.]

I kept an old Gallofree from crashing once, but I didn't actually fly her.

Your aunt and uncle aren't letting you fly any skyhoppers yet?

Of course not. I'm thirteen. Even Biggs won't let me fly his. I've been the passenger, though. He's good.

[notyourlight]

[He flops down into the pilot's chair, idly turning it side to side.]

Well, I'm sure you can handle just about any ship you feel like flying. Of course that doesn't mean you should try. At least not on your own.

Yeah, yeah, I know. Speeders and swoop bikes are enough for now - I'm not supposed to fly 'em for a couple more years, but... [shrug] It's a number.

Your secret's safe with me. You know, Jaina's pretty good on the swoops here.

I figure if I only ever rent from Duros or Swokes Swokes or other species who can't tell how old humans are it'll work out.

Is she? The one Zekk showed me kind of had weird handling - [He's waving a hand around] - but I think I could get good at them. [Grin.] Maybe she'll want to race.

[Oh hey, Anakin. Here's Blair, slipping into the cockpit to hover and watch what you're doing. She's nice enough to not say anything and lets you work.]

[Since it's been a while after takeoff Anakin's alone when Blair comes in. He spins the pilot's chair around to face her and smiles.]

Everyone boring you already?

Apart from Jacen, no one entertained me to begin with. [Look, she's trying to be civil to everyone, okay. But it's hard.]

Maybe you should be the one to entertain?

[He gives her a sarcastically sweet look before propping his feet up on one of the passenger chairs in front of him.]

Because aside from the pretty view there isn't much going on in here either.
