"Hey, I come bearing gifts," he protested, crossing over the threshold with his arms laden with food and drink. It was a touch awkward because of the missing hand. But for now he had decent prosthetic. Better than the one back home, but nothing fancy. He still coudn't afford a cybernetic arm. It would be a while yet before he could, but he was looking into it. He set the hot food on the nearest table and then held up his prize triumphantly.

"Corellian whiskey. Haven't tried it yet, but it has to be better than that irongut crap I bought last time."

If Lilah was a better person, she might help take some of the stuff from him, considering it must be a little awkward with his fake hand all. But she wasn't a better person, so she didn't. Instead, she closed the door behind him, locking it up once more.

"Well, it sounds better at least," She mused with a grin. Of course, most of the drinks she had had so far had been ones she had flirted out of weak bartenders. Not that there was anything wrong with that.

Luckily for Lilah, he doesn't expect her to, in fact, he's prideful enough to be offended if she tried.

"Don't see why we can't celebrate in our own way." He works at pulling the top off, the bottle tucked into his arm. "Grab us some glasses, will you?" Taking a look around the place, he notices that she's by herself.

"Your other roomies out for the night? Good, because I only got enough food for two. Went with a few local dishes. The kebabs I've had before. And that spiced dish kinda reminds me of moroccan cous-cous."

She made her way to the kitchen area, grabbing a couple of glasses, handing them both to Lindsey to fill up.

"They are, luckily." Not that she had had a lot of time to talk to any of them (or any care to) but from what she could tell, they were all a bunch of white hats. Not really the type of people she wanted hanging around if they were going to honestly talk shop.

Lindsey wasted no time in filling the glasses with decent sized drinks. He picked up his glass, swirled it around and sniffed at the amber liquid. Smelled okay and even pretty close to the kinds of scotch he was used to drinking back home. Turning to face Lilah squarely, he held up his drink for a toast.

"Here's to us. Evil, reprehensible, morally corrupt and proud."

She took the glass with a smirk and a small salute before clinking it against his. "To us," She said proudly.

She brought the drink up to her lips, taking a long draw from it. It didn't taste exactly like something she was used to, but closer than some of the other drinks she had tried here.

"Not bad. Smoother than the other kinds I've tried." He'd heard that the drinks were stronger here and that seemed to be the case. This definitely had a hell of a kick to it, even if it tasted more palatable than some. He stepped closer, his gaze issuing a challenge as he looked up (yes up, since she was in heels, darn it) at Lilah.

"So, I bet you're curious. Do you want to know what I've got lined up or have you already figured it out."

She didn't really need to wear heels within her own room, but it created a certain image, and besides, it was fun to make Lindsey have to look up at her. Evened the playing field a little.

"Tell me, already." She said in annoyed voice. Which meant she hadn't quite figured it out yet, and didn't like that.

He deliberately took a swallow of his drink first before answering her.

"I scored myself an aide position with Senator Petrelli. Met him at the festival, got myself an interview on the spot. Had the job by Monday. You're slipping, Lilah. You need to do better if you're gonna keep up with me."

It was time to look smug, so he did. It wasn't often that he really got to lord it over her, and so when he could, he milked it for all it was worth.

The grip on her glass tightened, just a little. Enough to give away her annoyance. It wasn't often than he actually got ahead of her. Of the two of them, she was usually the harder worker. Which made this sting all the worse.

She took a long drink, letting it burn before finally retorting back. "Don't get used to it. Do you really think it'll take me long to get ahead of you?"

Lindsey had to chuckle at Lilah's sharp reply. One of his favorite pastimes was getting under her skin. But he didn't want to completely alienate her, so he nodded in acknowledgment.

"Oh, I won't. I know you've got the drive and the cunning to one up me again. You're the only one who could, Lilah. The only one who even came close to stopping me from coasting to the top. I don't doubt that you'll step up your game. Make me eat my own words. Just don't forget that this ain't a fight to the literal death, this time. We've got a whole new playing field and I'd prefer to have you as an ally instead of an enemy. Besides, we've got enough problems with people wanting to kill us or make our lives hell because of the things we've done for the firm. We gotta stick together on this one."

At least until it wasn't convenient or wise to partner up anymore.

It was hard to remember at times that the game was different here. She was so used to try to one up him, to try to step one ahead of him at all times because it would definitely cost her her life if she didn't.

"I haven't stabbed you in the back yet, have I?"

It was a dry question. Of course, they both knew that if given the right opportunity, she probably would do exactly that. Because no matter what alliance they might have made, what benefited her was always going to come first.

"I know we have to work together for now, I'm not stupid. We're not exactly at an advantage here."

"Not yet. And I'm hoping to keep it that way." He knocked back more of his drink, eyeing her over his glass. "Which is why I'm gonna to fill you in on a few more things which you might wanna know. In the interests of keeping our truce firmly in play. I've been cultivating a friendship with one of those angels who got stranded here. Castiel. He's got powers like you wouldn't believe. Instant teleportation. The ability to heal by touch. I figure it doesn't hurt to be on his good side. Never know when that may come in handy. And as you know, we could do with some more allies."

She arched a brow at that, draining the last of her drink before responding. She had talked to Castiel briefly on her last post, but not enough to find out this sort of information. She made the mental note to keep contact with him in the future. "He certainly sounds like someone who would be good to have on our side," She agreed, moving to pour them both another glass before continuing. This time, she'd offer her own piece of information. Show she too was honoring their truce.

"When I first arrived I talked to a man claiming to be Thor, the Norse god of Thunder. If that's what he actually is, he too would be a powerful ally to make."

"Sounds like something that'd be right up your ally. He seems predisposed to paying attention to beautiful women." It was blatant flattery but also the truth, Lilah was a knock out and she knew it. He accepted the refill and took an contemplative sip. What else did he feel like sharing? Darla was off limits, but... "Drusilla's in town, she contacted me. Thinks I'm pet material, which is better than being her next meal. If we play it right, she could be the perfect buffer between us and the white-hats."

"I noticed that too. I planned on taking advantage of it." There was no reason to hide her agenda. Lindsey knew her well enough to know she wasn't beyond using her looks to her advantage. It wouldn't be the first time. Anything could be a weapon, if wielded correctly, and most men were predisposition to be weak to femininity so why shouldn't she take advantage??

Her expression sobered at the next part, and she took a sip before replying, Drusilla being around was not comforting news. "We'll have to be careful to make sure she doesn't turn on us though. She's not exactly stable. And daddy dearest is here, and always a weakness."
