That sometime later Anders vaguely wondered if saying he should be kidnapped more often would be jinxing something. He almost did, of course then he remembered the last kidnapping before this space nonsense, all strange talking darkspawn and murderous Dalish elves- ugh. No, he was much more happy with the momentary peace and keeping an arm around her waist. He wondered if she was sleeping- the whole after bit of spur of the moment sex usually ended for him with straightening robes and dashing around a corner before anyone was the wiser.

Then again this whole thing had been a somewhat new, learning experience- or a horrible mistake, he couldn't tell. The whole time he had been worried more about her feelings getting twisted, though now he was starting to realize that his own were being turned in their own way. She was fascinating to him, he knew that from the moment they met and she had said whatever snarky, slightly sad thing it was she said and now, well... he was getting too caught up in the ideas her stories gave him, of things part of him might have wanted but was smart enough never to actually want.

Ugh, it was all so complicated, how could he complain? He had his decent meals, the right to shoot lightning at darkspawn without Templars breathing down his neck, a very good start if you asked him, and at the moment a very pretty girl curled up to him. Wanting more than that would just complicate things more than they already were. That didn't stop a truly traitorous part of him from doing so.

Anders can't help but snort in amusement at her comment, glancing over as best he could with a raised brow. "Regrets? I have a lovely girl at my side- a wonderful view, I'll have you know - I can't complain. Might have a few bruises from it- you're very ah... vigorous. Still not complaining though."

She suspects that she'll feel worse, or at least confused, about this later, when she's had some more time to think about how incredibly screwed up this situation is, and how she may have just done a number on poor Anders' head. For the time being, though, she can focus on the now instead of the hideous pit of hell her life has become in the past few months, and the now has a nice warm body for her to curl up next to (or on top of, as the case appears to be).

She gives an amused snort of her own at his comments, throwing a leg lazily over his. It occurs to her that he may want to leave, however, and the jolt of panic that shoots through her takes her by surprise. Her fingers clench slightly, involuntarily against his stomach where her hand had been idly resting before she forces it to relax. She knows herself well enough to realise that being alone with her thoughts and her actions right now is a very, very bad idea. "You had best not complain," she manages to say, and in her opinion quite successfully achieves a casual tone. "You might hurt my poor feelings. And you'd be a piss-poor healer if you couldn't handle a few bruises, I hope you know."

Anders runs his hand up her back as her fingers clench, wondering if part of her is starting to regret this already. He half expected to be kicked out after that first kiss, so far so good he had to say. If there was anything Anders was good at it was enjoying the moment and leaving everything else for whenever it finally dumped itself upon his shoulders.

"Oh I know, I know. One of the better perks of being a mage- besides the electricity thing. Honestly they should teach that at the tower, it has far more practical uses than rambling about Elvorn's Grande Bestiary for hours on end." He quips, letting his hand rest on her shoulder now. "As for your feelings please assure them I have nothing but glowing praise for your talents."

"They should teach the electricity thing?" she echoes, eyes fluttering open to give him an incredulous stare. "Can you imagine what lessons would be like? It'd be some sort of org - oh, I suppose I see where you're coming from, now."

Her hand leaves his stomach and comes up to rest lightly over his on her shoulder. The term 'glowing praise' brings a twitch of a smile to her lips, but she supposes it doesn't really apply here. "My feelings have been appropriately assuaged, for the time being, she reassures him. It's sort of the truth.

She falls silent for a moment, listening to the sound of their breathing. She'd done this before, countless times, but that had been normal, usual. This was anything but usual. There's something she wants to ask, can feel it rising in her throat, but that unusualness chokes her a little. There's only one person she's used to being vulnerable in front of, and this isn't him. Not really. Not yet, at least. This is, however, something that she thinks she really needs, and perhaps a moment of vulnerability won't kill her. Maybe. "I'm probably going to fall asleep on you soon," she admits, which is true, because she hasn't done that in some hideous amount of hours. "You're welcome to leave, of course, but I..." Her throat closes for a moment, and she takes a breath, clears it. "I would prefer if you didn't. For the time being."

"See? Brilliance. If only I was First Enchanter, the world would truly be a brighter place." Anders answers, unable to keep from smiling a bit when he hand rests over his. Funny how small things like that seemed so much more intimate than anything else. He kind of liked it.

When she speaks again, asking him to stay in so many words he feels a bit at a loss. Admittedly it would probably be easier if he simply left- easier for him most likely. He wasn't entirely sure what to feel about all these feelings, and the long trained part of him that knew the best, fastest and easiest ways to flee was tugging at the edge of his mind.

Still, when he glanced over he couldn't help but wonder when the last time she slept had been, the healer part of him fretting over the stress of it. Or maybe it was just the large part of him that was incredibly fond of her. Anders was a smart man, maybe not in social situations but even he could tell this was probably one of those decisions, the one that set you on a certain path and kept you on it. Or maybe he was recognizing a last chance to run.

"If you recall I already answered that- you know, the rather valiant bit where I said 'I shall not leave your side.' Or... alright perhaps it hadn't been that exciting but you get the idea." He shifts some, free hand brushing over her forehead almost hesitantly. He swallowed. "... Anyway, as a healer I say get some Blighted rest. You're radiant, don't get me wrong, but a very tired looking radiant individual."

There's a moment after the words leave her mouth where she wonders if this is what free falling is like; Hawkes hates, and is very much unused to not having control over a situation.

He answers her query, though, after a brief moment of silence, and some muscles relax that she didn't know had been tensed in the first place. "I apologise, you did say that, didn't you?" She smirks at him, eyes dipping shut for a moment as he brushes her hair aside before she manages to open them again. "I guess a few things must have happened in between that made it slip my mind." She stifles a yawn. "Well. If you're saying it as a healer, I suppose I must oblige."

Anders tries not to swallow again, which was harder than he thought it would be. It take him a moment to just smirk, settling in some. Screw consequences, right? Live in the moment.

"I forgive you, next time I'll aim for a more dramatic declaration- maybe wait for some thunder to punctuate it and everything." He answers, shifting his head to a more comfortable position. For sleeping. How did he end up sleeping next to a very naked Hawke exactly? Oh right, not dwelling on all that. "A good patient, how rare." He murmurs, smirk tugging at his lips again. "Good night Hawke."

"I hope this isn't you treatment plan for all your patients," she mumbles, eyes sliding shut. She doesn't open them again, half asleep already as she is.

Half asleep turns to entirely asleep as her body shifts on automatic, curling into his side and finally, for the first time in days, relaxing.

"If only." Anders answers, mock mournfully. He opens his mouth to say something else but looks over at her. Huh, so that's what she looked like relaxed. He wondered how often that happened. Maybe he should be marking the date and time to proclaim a holiday to mark the day a miracle occurred. Really, she was missing out on gold with this snarky thought process. A shame he was such a gentleman and letting her rest.

He closes his own eyes, easing some of the tension he hadn't even realized he had been holding. Maker knew she'd be throwing herself at something sharp and dangerous tomorrow, he wondered how his future self dealt with it. Maybe he wrote manifestos on the subject. He couldn't help an amused exhale at the thought.
