It may not have been a four poster bed in a luxurious bedroom, or a plush armchair in front of a roaring fireplace, but the scene was still a familiar one. Marian Hawke, perched on the edge of her bed, staring out the window at the Coruscant cityscape. Not moving, unblinking, aware that there were people outside her room who were worried about her, who wanted to see her, and yet unable to find it in herself to move.
She'd known this was going to happen, of course. But if there was one thing that Hawke couldn't stand, even more than killing Avelline herself, it was making - letting - someone else do it. She just needed time, that was all. To process what she'd done, to drown in the guilt of it a little more, before she could pack up her feelings in a neat little box and get moving again.
