What: Spike corners Buffy while she's weapon-shopping in the daytime to try and smooth things over.
Rating: PG-13 for safe measure. It's Buffy's violence and Spike's mouth. Also possibly triggering discussion of rape.

[Spike has been having a bloody rough week ever since he came back here. His relationship with Buffy was at an all time low, and considering how things had sometimes gone with them, that's saying something.

He had intended to leave her alone. Really, he meant to keep his word. But he's been drinking and having trouble sleeping and all around hating that she was in pain, and... well, he never has been good at leaving Buffy alone.

Also, he was looking for more weapons. It really was a coincidence that Buffy happened to be in the store at the same time. But it didn't stop him from sauntering over and looking the weapon over.]

Nice blade on that thing.

[ When she hears his voice, she actually visibly cringes and her knuckles go white on the blade for a moment. She recovers after just a moment and turns to glance at him steadily, jaw set and expression radiating discomfort. Then, she turns to toss the heavy blade's handle casually back into the shopkeeper's hands -- he struggles to juggle it back into a secure grip, but manages. ]

He can have it. [ Because God knows she doesn't want it after he complimented it. It's petty, but it's Buffy. ]

I don't want it. [Since they last talk, Spike has managed to acquire a long black coat that may not be his actual duster, but is close enough to make him feel comfortable. He pushes it back to reveal a lightsaber attached to his belt. He didn't end up having to try and make one thanks to a bar fight with a certain Sith. Spike had won and taken the weapon. He might like the weapon Buffy had been looking at, but he hadn't really been looking at it for him. The lightsaber's cooler than any sword. He's more interested in axes, maces, and maybe some blunter weapons.

But even more than that, he's interested in Buffy. He turns towards her, ignoring the shopkeeper.]

Look, I need to talk to you.

[slayerdom]

[ She's going to keep browsing, picking up a big sharp knife that's shorter, but more curved like an arabian style sword. ] If the next words out of your mouth aren't world in peril related, then I don't want to hear it. I thought I made that pretty clear. [ She turns to face him, gesticulating to his chest with the sword. ]

You're soul guy now, which means I can't kill you. But that doesn't mean I have to let you hang around. [ The shop keeper is making generally displeased faces at having their lover's quarrel in his shop. ]
