What: Spike corners Buffy while she's weapon-shopping in the daytime to try and smooth things over.
Rating: PG-13 for safe measure. It's Buffy's violence and Spike's mouth. Also possibly triggering discussion of rape.
[ Buffy's doing some weapons shopping -- the zombie attacks may be over, but that doesn't mean she doesn't need to recreate her weapons chest from back home. Call it nesting, getting comfortable or just plain nostalgia to busy herself from being preoccupied with all the nightmares she's been dealing with lately. There's been nothing but bad news, can you blame her?
She's just inside a particularly gritty looking weapons store, eyeing the heavier merchandise. Finally, she picks out a sword that's just out of her reach -- a wide, double-sided kind of broadsword. The price tag's not looking too nice, but she's thinking she can work it out. Turning to the shopkeeper, a tall, overweight Gamorrean with rusted armor on, she pointed up at the sword. ]
Any chance I can get a look at that? [ He chuckled in response immediately. ]
A little human like you? You could not lift that. It's a Wookiee warblade. Our lighter weapons are -- [ She shakes her head, cutting him off. ]
Believe me. Lifting it? Not a problem. Either get it down or I'll do it myself. [ Fixing her with an annoyed, but still pompous and challenging look, the Gamorrean pulls the blade down off the shelf, holding it out for her with both hands. Buffy takes it with one, hefting it like it's more or less the weight of your average sword. ]
Huh. Guess it is kinda heavy. [ She looks at it thoughtfully, raising a brow, ignoring the slack-jawed expression of the boarish alien before her with a kind of nonchalance that says she's more or less used to the reaction as well as the weird appearances of aliens. After all, they're like demons, but ... less evil. Most of the time. ]
