oh man you should see my friends page haha. this is the first white christmas in recorded history for deep south texas, and the first measurable amount of snow since 1895. cities a little bit north of us got alot too - houston got 10 inches, victoria got a foot ... we got about 2 or 3 inches maybe. just enough to play in. :)

i've seen snow before, in new hampshire and washington. but it never gets old, to me!

do you know anything about Emerson College in Boston? i'm thinking of applying there.

AAAH! I was going to go to Emerson! But at the very last minute I decided that Clark Univ. would be better for me, and in the end it was because it turns out that I want to be a Psychology major and they don't have that at Emerson, but...yes I know a looot about Emerson because I planned to go there for most of my senior year! =D So ask away. lol.

all i know, oh gosh, lol. well as for hard-to-get-in-to, I'm not totally sure because I applied two years ago, it's probably changed. Lately they're wanting to attract more people so they're making all these changes (changes that i'm hating, btw!). But yeah i'd say they probably want a 3.0 or higher gpa. They're ALL for affirmative action, if you're of a non-Caucasian background or live/lived in a foreign country your gpa could be like a 2.5 and they'd probably accept you. They like people from new states, new countries, and such...I have a friend there who's from Texas too ;D. Ugh I wish I had a scanner there but I don't, then I could scan pictures and show you what it looks like. You can go to www.clarku.edu and they'll have some pictures.. I think it's really pretty, it's a small campus and there are 2700, maybe 2800 students there, I think? I would tell you the best thing to do is visit, but since you're in Texas, yeah.. lol. All the buildings are brick, some of them are really beautifully constructed, the library, omg, the ( ... )

Oh ohh you should look at the academic catalogue online at the website! They have really interesting classes, and you can choose whatever you want, there are no Assigned Classes to Take freshman, sophomore, etc. years - no required classes, there's no Intro to University ;D class (one of the reasons why I went there ;D)..the requirements you have to fill before you graduate (outside of your major/minor/whatever, that is) are called "Perspectives" (oooh profound *rolls eyes*)..and they have.. I think there are 7 or 8 now. There's a History perspective, a Science perspective, a Comparative perspective, an Aesthetic perspective,... But you don't have to go with generic history, science, politics, art classes, like, they offer a lot of classes in every department that fill the perspectives. You could take a Music History class for your history perspective, a music theory class for your math perspective (they call it "formal analysis"..i took computer programming 101 to fill it), it's really cool. For my science perspective I want to take ( ... )

jesus tapdancing christ, i had NO IDEA i was typing this much. mybestrevenge December 30 2004, 09:56:27 UTC
It took me awhile to figure out, but, the reason I loved Emerson so much was because of the "artist motif" I felt there, y'know?, the sense that everyone who went to Emerson was creative and artsy and, basically, JUSTLIKEME!, and that's really why I was so attracted to it.. But a lot of the majors at Emerson are for people who basically want to be starving artists. That is, they're really, REALLY passionate about "writing, literature & publishing" (I was going to go there for that), filmmaking, musical theatre, journalism, broadcast journalism, fashion design/theatre costuming design etc.,... I went to Accepted Students Day and that's what changed my mind ultimately, because the Emerson staff and students and even the prospective students all seemed, just..passionate..about these talents and pursuing them, and they are at Emerson to work on improving their craft, and they'd rather be self-fulfilled and happy than making a lot of money. And that's not what I want!, I want to be confident that I could, you know, eat (..to be blunt! =$) ( ... )

yay!
is clark high school-y, do you mean? oh no clark is nothing like high school, ugh i hated high school. heh. at my high school EVERYTHING was about sports-like, every.one. played sports, and all anyone talked about was sports, and there were only a handful of kids who didn't play sports (me, some other people lol).. at clark the sports stuff feels totally separate, like, it's there if you want it but you don't have to hear about it 24/7, i don't even know anyone who plays a sport. maybe it's like that at a lot of places, it probably is, i dunno, at the time i loved clark and emerson so i kind of blocked every other place out ;). but yeah, clark is noothing like my high school.
