Once Al heard that Ed was on his way home, he kept a vigil by the window, knowing that Edward had to take the winding path home. Yet he stayed by the window, waiting for his brother and chewing his fingernails down to the nail beds. Finally, he spotted the haphazard gait of the blond and he was out the door, already sprinting down the walk."Ed
Alphonse hadn't been this excited in a long while. Even though it was dusk, he felt like he could barely wait to see Apollo again. Of course, he had made certain his brother was well thanked before pacing outside on the porch, listening to the peeper frogs in the trees as the sun finally dipped down below the horizon.
He had rushed about as soon as Hyacinth was off to take his flight back to his home. It really was a fascinating thing to watch the aircraft take off. Definitely a lot less intimidating than the air ships he and Edward had fought off

The sun rose bloodied as if torn away from the earth. The tropical island had captivated the land locked brothers and served only as a cover for their deeper issues. Alphonse can't even stand being in the Rockbell house. He sat out in a field, trying to count the stars. He couldn't believe that the imposter could be so...bluntly cruel. No hope...It was as if that person didn't want Al to find his brother. But how could Ed think he wasn't worth looking for? Risking everything like Ed had to bring him back
