The expression "every step of the way" is usually used figuratively, but this project for work has taken the adage to a terrible, literal level. There were steps, none could be circumvented, and something always went wrong. I finally wrote a master DVD late tonight, which will be handed over to the printers tomorrow along with some artwork I did.
The ideal process: color and audio correction for eleven 10-minute-long youth-produced documentaries, rare editorial correction, double-check release forms. Gather final films, slap them around with slugs, art and a smattering of DVD Studio Pro to get three final copies - Projection, DVD and Broadcast - then toss some DVD art together in Photoshop and off we go. Not. So. Much. The only thing that has not gone wrong, knock on wood, is a cold short in my office's RAID-0.
Bah.
Also, I'm going to start up my own little one-man media design company.
And I will abandon Facebook when they enforce the new changes.
That is all.
