Work, work.

Ever shifting, my work dodged me about two weeks ago from working with youth in the production of their documentaries to digital video mastering, and I have but two words: holy crap.

Program logistics problems aside (but, chiefly, they have to do with time management), I put in 80-odd hours in only 9 days. My office became the bat cave known only as the ubiquitous "control room:" a gutted old left-side Cinerama projector booth now filled with a mini cable broadcast studio, $75,000 (at least) of video production equipment and a Mac G5 editing desk with just under 2TB of storage attached to it (a five-drive RAID-0 and a seven-drive Firewire daisy chain). I worked on audio mastering and color correction, chiefly, but also slight editorial bumps for an hour and a half of student documentaries.

But! I now have a slightly more permanent job here, and at 30 hours a week I'll be able to build up some freelance web design work.

I also - with Jess and Hannah - ate sushi next to The Dandy Warhols. On accident. After making fun of their drummer's pedo-stache. And then we saw them perform live for Live Wire! radio theater.
