The first songwriting challenge was posed by Shauna who requested a song about beards. A quiet half hour in work resulted in what are quite possibly some of the stupidist lyrics I've ever written.
[Verse One]
All this extra hair's a mess
It's all over my face
Makes me look more ginger
It's a fashion disgrace
Still it keeps me warm
And it catches up crumbs
While making me look like
an alcoholic old bum
[Chorus]
But I like her
And she likes boys with beards
I'd do anything for her
I swear I won't shave for years
[Verse Two]
I kissed my mum goodbye
As I left home
She scratched her face and muttered
Something about velcro
I moved in with my girl
I moved into her bed
She'd run her fingers down my face
But all the romance was dead
[Chorus]
[Verse Three]
She used to wake up at night
Just to take a peek
Said she loved it when her hair
Stuck to the side of my cheek
But now I'm lonely and cold
And I'm boking up wine
She left me for some guy
Because he had one longer than mine...
[Chorus]
I still love her
She likes boys with beards
I'd do anything for her
I swear I won't shave for years
