The past week was particularly difficult.  Part way through the previous week our manager, who we all like a lot, went in for a minor heart op.  On the Friday we heard that it wasn't quite as simple.  We went into work on the Monday to learn that she was going to have a double bypass op, sometime later in the week, which would then mean 8 to 12 ( Read more... )

So sorry to hear that your manager is unwell! I hope she is feeling lots better soon, and I'm sorry things have been so stressful. I hope they improve.

The manager is now home, although obviously unable to do anything, but she's recovering which is good. We continue to back each other up when things happen and deal with over pushy people and faults in the fire panel.

We'll cope. The manager is recovering well, which is good - it was such a shock. It's just "the buck stops here" thoughts that give us problems, because she was very hands on.

She's back home and making a good recovery. It will however be some time before she can come back to work, so we do what we can and take on things outside our normal remit.
