Content: Hisoka hears that Havoc has been injured in a fight and goes to visit him.
Setting: The Amestris infirmary.
Time: Backdated to the day Hisoka arrived in Bydan, on a brief leave from Serenity.

Havoc had made himself comfortable (as comfortable as he was able to, in any case) and was going through the bits of paperwork that was assigned to him. No one had asked much questions for his situation, and for that he was grateful; while he did not dislike his time in the infirmary, he'd already had his allotted cigarette for the day, and the lack of anything else to do for the moment was starting to grate on his nerves.

"Hello, Lieutenant," said Hisoka, with a small smile. He approached the area Havoc seemed to have claimed for himself as a makeshift office. "Word doesn't get around the airship circuit very fast!--I'm told you've been in here for four weeks?"

"Finally someone decides to visit! I would get you something to drink, but..."

It was pretty self explanatory, so he trailed off. Havoc perked up when he realized someone dropping by. He offered his companion a grin as he pushed aside the work, gesturing at a chair beside the bed. His previous cheer turned serious at that.

"Nah. We've been trying to keep it quiet."

Hisoka sat down. He returned the smile.

"They seem to have found ways to keep you busy, even in here!"--glancing at the pile of papers.

"So...can you tell me what happened?"

He chuckled at the response.

"Well, you know how it is." Paperwork; the one evil that will never stop following him around, though he'd just been using that as a cover to keep working.

He focused his attention at his visitor as he pondered the best way to respond to that. Does he have clearance from Mustang? The guy had his heart at the right place; but was he able to be trusted?

The excuse he was about to sprout died on his lips.

"What do you know?"

"I know that I myself was attacked while aboard the Amestris, by Kazutaka Muraki and his pet," said Hisoka. "Grand Admiral Bradley and Lt. Commander Mustang know about it--although they did not witness it--because they both responded to my emergency code. I know that Muraki is being investigated, but in the meantime, he's free."

"And I think that you were injured aboard the ship, because there was no available information about it having happened elsewhere. And you know how people like to talk! If you had crashed your plane, they would have spread it all over the network, out of sympathy."

"So, my first thought was, maybe you tangled with Muraki in some fashion?"

Havoc digested Hisoka's succinct report, frowning in thought.

"You're a bright one, aren't you?"

This one was brighter then he'd first anticipated, to have drawn that conclusion. It would seem that Mustang's tip on Muraki was due to the visitor in front of him, as well. He decided to take a gamble.

Man, he needed a smoke.

"You can say that. It's not like anything I've seen before."

Leaning back, he pushed the paperwork away with a sigh.

"Did you sustain any injuries from your meeting?" Might as well get as much information out of Hisoka as he can to see what exactly he went up against.

"I got clawed, nothing major," said Hisoka. "We sort of danced around the deck until Muraki got tired of trying to corner me. Then he set his Kocho-birdie on me. So I jumped into the nearest doorway and slammed it in the creature's face. Heh, ruined my best jacket, but the beast didn't get to dine on fillet of Hisoka."

Even with the grim news, Havoc had to chuckled at the humor.

"Kocho-birdie, huh?" That was one way to put it. "I think I had a run-in with something else, though. Glad you made it out fine other then the jacket, hm?"

"Glad, yes," said Hisoka. "Tell me about that 'something else' you had a run-in with?"

"..." He frowned at that. "Not exactly sure what it was, but bullets didn't deter it much at all. It looked like a... dragon." Have a sigh. "I was originally sent to look for leads on Chimeras, but..." Havoc trailed off.

"A dragon..." murmured Hisoka. "Well! So it seems he's got other creatures at his beck and call besides the Kocho!"

"Chimeras, huh?" he added.

"I started thinking about that vicious birdie and what it might actually be, after I left the Amestris. I had referred to it as a chimera when I was talking to Admiral Bradley and Commander Mustang, but I just meant it in a general dictionary definition sort of way, you know, as a mythical animal that has the appearance of being jumbled together out of spare parts from other creatures. But when I said that, I could feel a kind of...silence surrounding that word, as though it had a significance to those two that it didn't have to me
