"I don't mind handling them," Tear answered with a slight nod, her words typically phrased as if giving an automated response. "Could I see the instructions?" She never dealt with those sort of decorations before, so she would need a quick review of the manual first, unless she wanted to risk the consequences. Not to mention, she would say there was enough danger from their current placement, even if they did look rather cute, bobbing up and down as if fishing for apples in a barrel. Although, no one would ever catch her admitting that.

Thus it was that he found himself rushing a bit late into the place, still somehow managing to look well-dressed and not so harried as he entered the room, looking around the rather bright and well-done decorations before he glanced towards the other two in the room. "Lieutenant Grants... Ambassador Palaeno, was it? A please to meet the both of you, and apologies for my lateness." He then paused to look around the room once more. "How goes the preparations?"

"Lord Phantomhive." A polite inclination of her head came with her simple greeting. With Ambassador Palaeno already answering his question, she focused on the directions once more. A template would be best to work with, but in the event that there wasn't... he supposed he would have to rack his brain a little.

While the count came up with a magnanimous idea, she couldn't help thinking that it was a bit impromptu. Spontaneity wasn't a negative quality, but when it came to such elaborate events, it wasn't quite the best call of judgement. Although, it did leave room for plenty of creativity, seeing how they didn't need to follow any stringent guidelines. Nevertheless, they needed to yield fruitful results and reflecting about the little details unnecessarily wasted time.
"As for the hosts," she continued, responding to the ambassador's query, "yes, that is their role." Or, in the count's words, 'To serve the hungry people and warm their hearts with soup!' His enthusiasm really was rather ( ... )

The ambassador's voice cut him out from his thoughts at that point, and Ciel only have enough time to look up and blink before he looked back down at the flask of... hair tonic that had been just given to him. Of all the things in the continent to give... hair tonic? The boy was almost tempted to say this was a jest, but seeing from how the man was acting... it hardly seemed that it was the case ( ... )
