"U-Uh..." Wait, no, she was trying to kill him! He thought. Was she? How could someone like her really be trying to kill him? No, no, he saw her disappear with that damn jar of seeds! She was trying to kill him!
... Right?
"... Y-Yeah, you probably should." Rolo figured, at the very least, if he was wrong about Melissa, then he could apologize later for making her cry. Maybe he should just tell her the truth. Of course, why didn't he think of that before? If Melissa really was innocent, she'd laugh and drink the lemonade to show him that he was wrong, maybe after crying a bit at the thought that Rolo thought she was trying to kill him.
Telling the truth. Well, Rolo was no good at mind games when he preferred being direct. Even though she suggested leaving, she wasn't moving. He grabbed the drink again.
"Melissa, I'm sorry, but I still don't know what you did with that jar of seeds. It really worried me to see a cook in possession of that kind of thing." He held the glass out to her again. "If you really got rid of it, then can you just drink this for me?"
Prove it.

Dahlia's eyes widened, but she looked as though what Rolo said was funny. Confusing, but funny. "You thought I... poisoned your drink? I have been told some things, but never..."
Still, she moved her hand to reach for the offered item. "If it makes you feel more comfortable, I suppose..." But just as her fingers touched the glass, Dahlia let it slip with her lackluster grip and it went shattering in between them.
She then let out an ear shattering shriek.
"Oh nooooooo! That was Ms. Andrews' glass!"

Rolo continued to watch her, trying to see if she was going to do something funny. And it did, as the moment Rolo let go of the glass, Melissa let it slip and he heard it crashing to the floor. He tensed up, ready for her to strike, but -
"Aah!" Rolo recoiled back at the sound, a little shocked at how loud this woman was capable of screaming. Sheesh, it was just a glass! She was acting like it was worth more than her!
... But at least she took care of the poison, if there indeed was poison.
"D-Don't worry, I'll take care of this." Rolo was going to... somehow. He turned away for a moment, kneeling under the bed and feeling around for a dustpan and broom. Like hell he was going to risk touching the glass shards; Melissa wasn't off the hook yet. This only made him more suspicious.
Just... why couldn't he seem to figure her out?! She was more of a nuisance than Sync was!

It was just as planned, though (nevermind the fact that her plan was to poison him). It was a good plan B.
She continued to sob as Rolo turned his back to her, bent over in a perfect position. Dahlia reached her hand up into the top of her parasol, fingers grasping at something behind one of the wooden supports. She raised the previously hidden dagger over her head, the parasol gently rested against her opposite shoulder.
"Please... don't be mad at me..." Without warning, she stabbed down at Rolo's back.

Rolo almost wasn't quick enough; he barely had time to literally throw himself out of the way of the knife, but it wasn't in time to save him completely and he let out a sharp gasp when he felt the blade nick his shoulder, bringing an arm up to clutch at the wound. It tore through his shirt, but the wound was shallow enough.
But most importantly, he found out that he was right about Melissa Foster. Shit!
His free hand felt around his pocket for his knife, grinning as he felt the his fingers close around the familiar steel. Now all he had to do was finish her off - this really wasn't the way he wanted to do it, but he'd have to think of some excuse later.
Rolo stood back up, flicking his wrist to snap the blade in place and eye glowing, ready to freeze her in place so he could finish the job quickly.

Still, maybe that dinner was good for something. As quick as she could, Dahlia extended her arm holding the parasol and used it like some bizarre golf club, hitting the tray of hot food and sending it flying towards Rolo's face. It didn't matter if it hurt him that much, because she was on the rebound and running to try and stab him again.

The diversion was enough to break his concentration, the hot glow surrounding his eye fading fast. In desperation, Rolo ran at Dahlia, ready to knife her right at the stomach. Damnit, did she know about his eye too?!
Foiled by dinner. This was pathetic, even for him.

Ugh. Just the thought made her sick.
Still, she didn't expect him to be running at her that fast and, coupled with her own speed, she could only leap to the side as quick as she could. But considering her previous momentum had been carrying her toward the bratty kid with the knife, that meant the blade cut through her pretty white dress and left a cut across her hip.
Son of a! "This is my favorite dress, you pathetic cow," she said coldly, any kindness she previously held gone (which, considering, made her look like she had a bad case of MPD.) She swung her arm holding the parasol at Rolo again, trying to hit the guy with the chicken and cobbler-stained umbrella.

Rolo noticed he did manage to hit her - good, at least he managed to do something. Using his eye again was out of the question, when he could barely focus enough to walk.
Damnit, he really should have eaten at the mess hall today.
He didn't say anything to Melissa's cold hearted comment, not wasting his energy on needless banter, ducking as he saw her try to bat him with the parasol. Taking advantage of his position, he swung a leg out and knocked Melissa's legs right out from under her. As soon as she hit the floor, Rolo pounced, knowing she wouldn't have the reflexes of Sync and roll out of the way.

So she flailed as hard as she could. "Don't you touch me- GET OFF OF ME!!"

It looked like he was going to use the knife after all, but his eyes caught sight of the pink shawl around her shoulders. Heh... why leave evidence? He could make this look like a suicide! Rolo snatched the ends of the shawl, working quickly to wrap it around Melissa's slender little neck. He wrapped each end around his fist once...
And then Rolo started pulling, tightening the shawl around Melissa's neck. And then he could just find some random closet to hang her body. Clean up the mess in his room, and the world would never know. It wasn't like Rolo was a novice at this.
"You messed with the wrong person," Rolo coldly informed his victim. "You think this is the first time some arrogant bastard tried to kill me? I'm good at hiding bodies."

After all, with the price of good beef now a days... When you'd be able to get it for the ship... If you'd get it...
Dahlia kept struggling as Rolo kept pulling the cloth around her neck. Her hands dropped both the parasol and the dagger as they found themselves more busy clawing at her shawl. She could feel herself getting lightheaded, which would probably explain why it took her later than normal to notice that the stupid idiot actually did her a favor by pulling the shawl away from her arms and giving her the power to move them again.
This mistake would be his undoing. No one screwed with Dahlia Fucking Hawthorne!
Dahlia leaned herself to the side, pulled her arm as close to herself as she could, and then jammed her elbow with all her strength towards Rolo's crotch. Thought he could kill her?! She wasn't even going to spare him a slow death now!

Or so he thought.
Melissa had enough fight in her to move, and the next thing Rolo knew, his world exploded in pain as something made contact with his crotch. Painfully.
"AUUUGH!"
He immediately let go, practically rolling off of Melissa as he curled up into a ball, wincing at how much it hurt. Ugh! He knew he had left himself wide open, but he couldn't bring himself to move properly for a few moments, feeling like he was going to throw up as he clutched at the corner of his desk to try and sit himself up.
"Augh..." He was done for. He was tired, his shoulder was screaming at him as he kept tearing the wound apart with each movement, and now this. Rolo cast a glance behind him, still obviously in a lot of pain.
"Why...?!" Why the hell was she doing this?! Why him, why was she picking on him when there was a million other people she could have killed?! He wasn't going to bother hunting her down to see if she still had those damn seeds, why did she have to come to him?!

"Why? Why?" she coughed out, eyes burning with hatred and malice unnatural for someone like her. People always were shocked at how much hate filled every one of her cells when they finally saw through the mask. "Because you know too much, that's why. First it was just to stop you from sticking your nose in a place it didn't belong. You had to spy on me, had to question other people about me--I couldn't let you making me popular, you see. But after all this?"
She laughed, then tilted her head and leaned herself against the wall. The smile she gave only looked disgusting after she let her real side show. "Now it's just personal."

"You saw that?!" No, he was sure he secured it... Unless Melissa happened to be a hacker. Shit. And he thought Sync was bothersome - Melissa didn't even seem to care that she left behind all of this evidence showing a struggle. Rolo just had the worst luck in the world, didn't he?
The pain eventually subsided into something bearable in those few moments that Melissa took to explain her vendetta against him, so Rolo took this chance to finally stand up, leaning on the desk as he spotted his own knife lying near where they were previously. Oh, this was good.
"So, were you going to actually poison someone specific or were those seeds just a little insurance in case someone found out a bit too much about you?" Like me, Rolo grimly thought, keeping his eyes focused on the knife. He just had... one more time, if he could just use it one more time, he could grab the knife and end it there.
"So, what are you? Assassin or just on the run?"

Dahlia was obviously the poster-girl for loving siblings.
She stretched a little where she sat as if she hadn't just been slapped around, then took to playing with her hair with a bored frown on her face. Other other hand tapped the dagger to her chest. "Insurance. I suppose that's what the little play-pretty you've been stashing while I was here is for the exact same thing, am I right?"
Though the thought that he would think so low of her? Dahlia snorted at the suggestion. "Please, I do things for myself and myself only. Besides, even if I was an assassin, I wouldn't be after you. Don't think yourself so special."
