Characters: Kimihiro Watanuki, Ichigo Kurosaki
Content: Watanuki is out of the hospital. Ichigo decides to haul him up to the school roof crow's nest for lunch. Because you really can't give up a ton of blood for a guy who threw himself between you and danger not to mention explaining Why Martyrdom Is Not The Answer without at least wanting to get to know the guy better. THIS IS THE START OF A BEAUTIFUL FRIENDSHIP -- if by "beautiful" you mean "snarky and full of flailing."
Setting: The kitchen, moving to the crow's nest
Time: Lunchtime~
Warnings: painful amounts of tsundere standard language warning for Ichigo, maybe some from Watanuki.
So, the kid was up and about, huh? That was good. It meant Ichigo would get another chance to talk to him, one that wouldn't involve him standing awkwardly in the infirmary, trying to come up with something to say. He hadn't gone back to visit since that first time. Why, he couldn't say. Probably because he wanted to avoid the whole standing-around-awkwardly thing.
Maybe, just maybe, what he'd said had something to do with it. It was entirely possible that he wanted some distance, some time to get his defenses back up. It would have been too soon to talk to him again.
But it seemed like now would be a good time to approach him again. Ichigo couldn't exactly deny that there was something resembling friendship between the two of them -- or at the very least, there could be, if he talked with the guy a little, instead of fighting all the time. So this time, he was going to go talk with the guy, without having debt to argue over. As far as Ichigo was concerned, the events on the evening of the qualifiers came out even. Hopefully, he could convince Watanuki of this.
It was with these thoughts that Ichigo made his way to the kitchens around when the cooks usually finished making lunch and pushed the door open. No, he'd probably never knock, not even after this. "Hey, Watanuki? You in here?" he called. He'd counted on the guy being crazy enough to want to be back in the kitchen as soon as he was up and about. If not, then.....then he could just find Watanuki's cabin or something. Couldn't be that hard, right?
