Itou scoffed. "I would make a terrible husband and father." Probably because he didn't go through proper parenting, himself.

Roy paused, pretending to consider Itou's words.

Itou frowned again and sighed. Mustang could afford to be less irritating. He really could.

"Hm. I think I'm due for a visit home, now that you've reminded me. Perhaps when we're back in Ivona."

Roy planned on going regardless of what Itou said, but asking permission was the civilized thing to do.

Not for the first time, Itou contemplated the consequences of drawing his sword and cutting some limb off or another from one of their newer boatswains.
