Characters: Rin Fandel and anyone in Claiborne who sees fit to drop in.
Content: Commiserating on the potentially long-term setback of traveling on a ship barely glued together, what else?
Setting: An ubiquitous inn's equally ubiquitous common room. For the sake of having a name, let's call it... The Clockwork Duck.
Time: Late evening, after the Fiertia was attacked and the passengers have been taken 'ashore,' so to speak.
Warnings: None, as yet. Technically one of those free-for-all bar-type logs, so feel free to start your own threads. \o/;

Rin hadn't expected not to spend the night on the ship. This was, in retrospect, something of a surprise. He preferred to prepare for all possible eventualities, but an attack on the ship wasn't something he'd counted on.

More accurately, he'd expected it as entirely possible-- with the cargo it held on board, how could it not be?-- just not this soon.

Regardless, he enough money to book an inn room for the night, and he hadn't lost anything he couldn't afford to replace. Idly, he wondered if any of the crew and passengers could say the same. It was going to be an interesting night for whoever attempted to sleep on the Fiertia.

This was, in the grand scheme of things, only a minor inconvenience.

Which explained why instead of fussing over the state of the ship, he'd elected to stay in the inn, do the sensible thing, and have dinner, perching at a seat near the bar and calmly cutting through a simple meal. For all intents and purposes, he was dining alone, but he kept half an ear to the conversations floating around him.

The attack on the Fiertia hadn't gone unremarked, at least not to anyone with eyes. It was crowded enough that a few strangers weren't anything odd, especially not considering the amount of traffic this port saw.
